Bad Postcards

Oddly, the Lee Harvey wax exhibit seems only slightly more staged than the actual event.

Omg those are hilariously awful and wonderful at the same time.

Does this postcard predate cosmetic surgery?

Cool. I grew up near where this one is from.

Not bad like "bad" but bad like "c'mon man why even take a picture of that?"

Those taxidermy bears really make me sad.

God damn I love postcards, the worse the better. Thank you for posting this!

It's a Post. But printed on a paper Card. Handwritten on back by people you know who tell of new and interesting things. Years later it became known as "Metafilter".

I'm the proud owner of an original The World's Largest Cheese postcard (not the *haughty sniff* reproduction). Some people would call that a bad postcard but really it is simply the most awesome postcard in the world.

That Dino one is the best thing I've seen on the internet all day.

And no, I don't need to get out more, thank you.

Why on Earth is Jack Ruby shooting Rowan Atkinson?

Did anyone else think that was Mr. Bean instead of Oswald at first, or was that just me?

I think you mean Awesome postcards.

This is the umpteenth Tumblr blog I've seen dedicated to the on-line preservation of awesome pre-internet kitsch (many of which are Previously on MeFi, but my Google-fu is failing me right now); no, make that the gazillionth. It seems like what Tumblr was made for and is such a Good Thing, I'm willing to forgive them that awful Web2.0www name. Are they giving away free scanners to potential kitsch-bloggers?

And I'd be willing to start rumors that Rowan Atkinson is Lee Harvey Oswald's illegitimate son, but LHO is just a little over 15 years older than Mr. Bean (Oct. '39 vs. Jan. '55)...

Why is the piggy one bad? Because it's slightly blurry?

Yeah, that's a mighty graceful pig.

These singing poodles have really, er, risen to the occasion.

Thank you, brundlefly, I was in a state of stunned confusion about that. Glad I'm not the only one who saw the resemblance.

Ditto, brundlefly. Scooped by three minutes; I got caught up on the Wikipedia page looking up the name of Mr. Bean's girlfriend.

Why is the piggy one bad? Because it's slightly blurry?

If I may venture a guess, it's because a pig leaping into water from a rock was judged a suitable postcard for a water park. It's just the weirdness of the idea.

The "Quacky" link, the "Piggy" link and the "Kill it with fire" link show up as errors for me.

You guys don't know the story of the late, great Ralph the Swimming Pig? He even has a Facebook page!
