/mu/, 4chan's music board, has started a university and listed its proposed faculty list. /tv/, 4chan's film and television board, is working on a comparable program of higher education.

I spent most of the few minutes I looked at those unsure what the hell the point in it all was, which is a common feeling whenever 4chan is involved for me... but the TV one was worth it for Franklin running the African American History department.

OMFG, this is fantastic! My faves: Tony Soprano for Business Management, Patrick Bateman for Mergers & Acquisitions, Don Draper for Marketing, and The Transporter for Campus Transportation.

Dr. Strangelove for Nuclear Engineering! Gordon Gecko for Business! I would consider those to be some relatively "old" references for the 4chan crowd.

Instead of Pierce Brosnan (aka James Bond) for Diplomacy I would have used Daniel Craig, and instead of Robocop for Criminal Justice, I would have used Batman (...okay, Vigilante Justice...).

The Football Coach is just wrong but if they were going down that road, why not Tiger for Golf Coach instead of Happy Gilmore?

Actually -- academia is doing so much better on that score than television and film. "Female" is not a character trait -- and you can have women even in roles where they aren't having sex with someone.

I propose the following changes to the TV/film one to start repairing the gender balance:

Sarah Jane Smith - Journalism.
Trinity - Computer Science.
Edna Krabappel - Education/Child Development
Kara "Starbuck" Thrace - Aero/Astro Engineering.
Queen Elizabeth I (Blackadder II) - Government.
Carrie Bradshaw - Fashion and Textiles.
Chloe O'Brian - Campus IT Support.
Mrs Doyle (Father Ted) - Campus Catering.

and to the gaming one:
GLaDOS - Information Science.
Alyx Vance - Electrical Engineering.
April Ryan (The Longest Journey) - Visual Arts.
Elaine Marley - Government.
Pyro* (TF2) - Chemistry.
Anna Navarre (Deus Ex) - International Law.
Laverne (Day of the Tentacle) - Anatomy.
