Hi, people that actually do like her: aren't you bored by now?

Serious question.

She's reminding me of a cross between Madonna and Marilyn Manson.

And now we have a thread for it!

Haven't you heard her new collaboration with the Murder Junkies? She's going to be America's top scum rocker under the moniker GaGa Allin.

This looks like if early-90s Madonna did a Tool video.

I don't want to crap in this thread with a negative comment about Lady GaGa, but I do think that a single link to a music video is weak sauce in this case.

She may have a penis and/or lupus, and this was the best you could do? Shame.

post favorited for warhammer reference.
Item's comment favorited for proper insight.

Still love her hits, though.

What a load of crap. Seriously, unless you're just interested in music videos (in which case I can see why you'd like this), what possible interest could this hold?

And I'd say that Joanna Newsom got it right when she called GaGa "Arty Spice".

I think her dancing is getting better. That was I did notice about her, especially dancing next to Beyonce in that videophone video.

This video was striking, but also kind of boring. She looks really different in this video, less removed, less remote, less, well, weird. But at the same time the video just looked cheap. Far less elaborate then what we're used to from her.

I think a lot of people came out with new music videos this week and, surely, every week since I was born... Do we post all of those, as well?

The last Gaga video FPP was received fairly well, if favorites and whatnot are anything to go by.

Some meat to this skeleton of a post: GaGa has said [the video] is dedicated to the gay community:
The gay community, who has been the most enormous blessing of my life that I have them and their support and the way that they truly understand me and support me. And, in fact, the 'Alejandro' video... is a celebration of my love and appreciation for the gay community, my admiration of their bravery and their love for one another and their courage and their relationships.
She revealed a "sneak peak" of the video in an interview on Larry King Live, which kind of fries my little brain. Larry King as a conduit for Gaga details? Did she get paid for upping Larry's street cred with Gaga fans?

This is a better post/discussion about this video.

Also, I feel like there was a Maddin influence early in the video, and I thought that was going to be very awesome to see unfold, but then that gave way to Exotica-by-way-of-Vogue.

This is pretty weak, I'm afraid.

It's her own satirical and self-reflective comment on the Gaga oeuvre, right? And she's having us on and we're now part of the joke? In that case, brilliant.

Wait..., she was serious?

This is like when I cut my hair that one way back in 10th grade and I thought it was pretty cool. Except it wasn't and I wasn't.

Yeah, not to be a threadshitter or a yourfavoritebandsucks-er, but I still don't understand what the big deal about Lady GaGa is. That she can rehash stuff from 3 different decades at the same time? There's nothing really fresh or striking about this video (like others have said, it is essentially 90s Madonna remixed with NIN or something), and the music sounds like Ace of Base. The appeal is ... ?

I mean, not that it's wrong to like her. But I guess I don't see why so many people consider her so cutting edge. It's fairly predictable stuff on all levels, no?
