Fake step (on water)

"For those of us who are not Ryu Hayabusa, we'll just have to fake step on small ponds and fountains." It's the return of AZO, the video game animator that can actually do the animations in real life.

That original video was incredible, but somehow I missed until the fountain video that this guy lives here in the Puget Sound area. I was watching the fountain video and was the most impresed when at 1:20 I exclaimed "Holy cow, that's Redmond Town Center!!!"

Okay, that guy is cool.

Can I go back and redo my life now? I want to be him.

That guy is kinda living the dream of boys ages 5 through 35.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that's my dream job. Or at least I want to be able to smoothly slide over a table like when he enters his office in the last video. I'm pretty sure that one move alone would be enough to make the ladies swoon.

Wasn't there a really long video of him somewhere? I remember seeing it a couple ... right, right, that, ahem, second link you posted, that's it. Golly, that was silly of me.

Frankly, that he is an animator and can pretty much do what he animates is cool as crap. thanks.

Yep, everyone else can stop making stunt videos. This guy's basically got it all covered.

Holy god that is the most excitement ever had watching someone eat Pringles, exercise on a treadmill and sit in a chair.

Oh man, now I'm going to spend the rest of the day throwing dice at random into the far corners of the room, swearing at them and yelling, 'You were supposed to STACK, damn it!'

Thanks a lot.

I love how the showreel contains some of the most mind-bending physics-defying crazy things ever, interspersed with just a few really, really mundane and silly things.

I think he may have done that intentionally, but I'd much rather believe that he can do all these things with no effort at all, and genuinely has no idea of what other people find impressive or why.

"You want me to walk on water again? That's nothing, I can jump from picnic table to picnic table! I can jump over this bush!"

Holy Cow!
So I guess I'm buying Monday Night Combat if it comes out for the Wii...

Griphus: You like the Pringles lid trick? The last time AZO showed up on Metafilter, I got into an argument with someone who claimed that it was easy. Just to prove him wrong, I tried it with the lid to a can of peanuts. I was wrong; it is easy! And it's fun. So go give it a shot.

That is how you get people interested in a game they've never heard of.

I would be incredibly shocked if it does. While the game is not a resource-hog, the Wii is way, way underpowered for a game like this.

Also, the developers are aiming at digital distribution first and foremost. WiiWare sales are awful for developers not backed by Nintendo itself.
