The Operation is a short light porn/erotica film shot using infrared film. Warm spots on bodies, face masks, and clothes show up as bright spots on infrared film. Creepy and occasionally hot. [Link goes to a boing boing article about it as I'm not gonna spend too much company bandwidth searching for fetish porn.]

She sure has a nice smile in all those pics. Kind of reminiscent of Bettie Page, amirite?

Is it possible to actually order this?

Reminds me of watching the blurred/color-altered adult entertainment on ppv cable. Kinda hot!

I'd laugh my butt off if I saw this hanging in my doctor's office. It sure would make wearing that paper gown more fun.

Babblesort: "The Operation is a short light porn/erotica film shot using infrared film. "

Dammit. I have been trying to get my hands on a copy of this for YEARS. I sent the Pander Brothers an email back in 2004 asking to buy a copy. The gave me a price, I sent a check and never heard anything every again. The check was never cashed.

Those are nice patellas. Maybe everyone's look like that, but you don't see them very often, you know?

Check out Miss September.

The original link is acting up. Maybe they cut us off. There's a lo-res version here.

Also, last link is dead.

This is an alternate gallery link.

Here's another, with fewer examples.

Found them while I was putting the post together, but as they are both sourced from the ufunk link, I didn't include 'em.

I just wanna say that I run on two 22" Eizos at my job (on em right now) and they rule it pretty hard.

Tho they do tend to require service every 18 months or so.

You only get serviced every 18 months? You must be so frustrated.

In fairness, the Vapors also predicted this. Requested it, even.

yeah the operation...

i met the pander brothers years ago in san fransisco and then again in seattle. an old roommate of mine did the music for the film. alas, they don't seem interested in posting the flick on the net or selling copies. and the old roommate disappeared ages ago.

as for the EIZO shots, oh my god are those amazing.
do those things do realtime video? if they do i'll gladly show up my naughties for movie making madness. especially in HD.

don't gross out metafilter.

These are weird and thought-provoking; I'd rather see them without the boob and thigh outlines, and without the shoes, and see if they're still titillating.

Is this some super-low dose X-ray? Since X-rays do carry a statistical increase in cancers, there's been a general medical consensus that they shouldn't be used for recreational or entertainment purposes. MRI is OK for that, but not X-ray.

Looking at these pictures I suddenly realised that all these depictions of unclad women that we as a species have are all unwitting homages to procreation. The x-ray gives some distance and takes away the lurid/titillating thing. And only the totemic lust for life remains.
At the same time I couldn't help but see it as a modern Totentanz; the omen of death even when we're in the life phase that's the pinnacle of life.
That was touching; to see our obsession with finding a mate suddenly rescaled within the 4 act play that is our little life.
Beautiful.
