wrok, I was pleasantly surprised to click on your links and see some amazing flatfooting- a topic that merits its own fpp most likely. Just wanted to note that a lot of those videos are cribbed from a fantastic documentary called Talking Feet that I think has been mentioned on the blue before.
And yes, I am partly writing this because I'm afraid that people won't realize that the people in your videos aren't actually dancing to hip hop. Can you tell that gullible is written on the ceiling of my house? posted by Polyhymnia at 6:24 AM on June 29, 2010 [2 favorites]

First, that woman DOES NOT BLINK. EVER.
Second, did Mr. 8-Ball get that jacket from Puddy on Seinfeld?
I was kinda thinking this might be like the Fly Girls with fringe, but no. Not at all. Not even close.
Third, I'm home sick with flu and this film is now playing in my fevered brain, over and over. Make it stop! Hey, hand me that fork, wouldya?

White is the new black. Black is the new white. Nothing means anything. Culture is appropriated, but no one knows from whom, or for whom. Everything is gained. All is lost. posted by flapjax at midnite at 7:21 AM on June 29, 2010 [8 favorites]
Source: FourFour, where you can also see some delightful animated GIFs of the dancers. One comment on that page: I took dance in a small town for 7 years. We used this video more than once for the "jazz" portion of our class.

More successful was the brief reign of country funk in the early 1970s, which in my mind includes Amos Moses, the Grateful Dead's Mr. Charlie, and some early Little Feat like Cold Cold Cold. posted by msalt at 9:53 PM on June 29, 2010
