If you're poor like me and can't take yoga or get a gym membership, some very nice people have put a lot of Billy Blanks up on YouTube, and I highly recommend it. If you can get past the dorkiness of it, I think you'll find that it's pretty rewarding (bonus: enormously-muscled black guy hugs at the end for those who make it all the way through! Not even kidding!).

I had a roommate who did these workouts. They do seem like fun and a real workout.
Yet, I can't put my finger on why, but Tae Bo is one of my least favorite portmanteaus.

This rhyme flow take practice like Tae Bo
With Billy Blanks
"Oh, you're too kind!" "Really? Thanks."
I never saw Blanks doing his exercise shtick, but I did see the bewildering TC 2000, and it was quite a challenge getting past the dorkiness of it.

If people can't afford a gym, yoga class or even internet in their home, they could do these exercises at the library. They have free internet, right? hamburger

Better yet, some public libaries offer a selection of workout DVDs (albeit a yoga and As-Seen-on-TV intensive selection).

While I am confident that Tae Bo is a good cardiovascular workout, I am less confident that it's a good substitute for yoga practice.

I don't want a sweaty guy (of any color) hugging me, so I am not going to work out.

I remember doing Tae Bo in high school gym class. It's definitely a good workout; my abs really hurt from laughing at how over-the-top the video was and goofy everyone looked.
I fell down a lot.
