Yeah, this is pretty well done. It feels more like an actual trailer than most fake trailers, that end up being 2 minute long short films or summaries; which isn't what a trailer is.
'We talked about that while filming that scene. I think our words were something like, "Let's keep the line as tennis racquets. It will give the internet something to bicker about."'
Very nicely done! I noticed the Rushmore (beginning) and Garden State (pool scene) trailer references -- a lot of things looked familiar but I'm not sure where they were from, or if they were just from every indie movie ever. posted by Solon and Thanks at 1:49 PM on July 16, 2010

Or, maybe in an indie context: huge, socially awkward dogs. posted by pyrex at 2:15 PM on July 16, 2010
I'm pretty much genetically engineered to love these kinds of twee-quirky indie films, and I have to really applaud the trailer-makers for getting the tone perfect. I would totally see this movie. posted by Tomorrowful at 2:23 PM on July 16, 2010 [4 favorites]
The song is the one used in Away We Go, right? Away We Go was about 80 times better than all the other earnest indie movies in the past five years put together. But after seeing this trailer I think God of War: The Movie might be even betterer. posted by Mizu at 3:03 PM on July 16, 2010 [1 favorite]
This is the first fake trailer that has genuinely made me want to watch the nonexistent film. The swimming pool scene, pure genius. posted by mek at 2:34 AM on July 17, 2010
Coming to this late, but didn't Athena take a vow of chastity that she took very seriously? This would have been more interesting and truer to both indie films and the mythology if this was a film of unrequited love. [/nerd] posted by pxe2000 at 5:36 PM on July 17, 2010
