Looking for a catchy ICQ number? How about a short one? I can understand domain name reselling, but this is ridiculous. What's next, a market for easy to remember IP addresses?

Email addresses, of course :) I have a no-longer-used email address that I've had for a number of years that I think is pretty cool (feminist@mindspring.com, for the curious) and once wondered for about five minutes if it could be sold... But then I realized I'd have to pay someone to take it, given all the spam that it gets, so fuggedaboutit.

I have not used my ICQ#: 4488 0102 in over a year. It's pretty easy to remember -- the second set of two digits are x2 the previous set. [I do wish I had signed up with ICQ the first time I saw it. I always lurk too long to get the lower digits.]

Anyone want my ICQ #, 4895763? I had lists and lists of friends and family on ICQ and then AOL made it easier in my opinion. I gave up on ICQ but it was the thing to have in college. Like most I haven't used the thing in ages, but I do have the hard to remember passwords so it should work.

I have several seven-digit ICQ numbers, a sub-1000 MeFi ID, and a Slashdot ID somewhere in the 15xxx range. The problem with me selling an ICQ number is the fact that I have 6 ICQ numbers because I kept forgetting my passwords whenever I'd switch computers. The one I currently use is 11 digits, which I know I will promptly forget after I reinstall the OS or switch boxes or something. I now use AIM instead.

As someone was saying further above about having their ICQ Number stolen, I wouldn't be surprised if that's how these ICQ numbers were obtained. This happens all the time with other services like online games because I regularly see people bragging about how much they sold so-and-so gaming account for after they tricked someone into running a trojan horse. "This UIN is NOT stolen." Riiiight.
