Nature Sounds

The Nature Sounds Player allows you to create your own soothing mix using .wav files found at The FreeSound Project.

There is an "Export To File" button which allows you to save your composition.

For perhaps the most annoying sound in the world, check out the Lemur from the dropdown.

Rain + creek with a hint of thunder has been working best for me. The creek is a good substitute for the gurgle of drainpipes and guttering. I've had it on in the background on and off for a couple of weeks now. Makes me forget that it's the middle of summer and all hot and sunny outside.

Heh! I do this with 2 Winamp windows every night as I retire to bed. With sounds from FreeSound. It's like they read my mind!

Under no circumstances should one combine fire, seagull, lemur, and beach. Trust me. Good lord.

Lemur+Lemur+Horse Snort+Heart Beat is quite unpleasant too.

I was a total junkie for those Environments recordings back in the 70s/80s. Sadly the best ones never made it past vinyl.

This is just plain great. Just improved my work atmosphere about 150%.

Rain + crickets works for me.

Thanks for posting.

This is awesome. You can use the right/left balances to create a real feeling of presence. I've got beach surf playing with quiet seagulls to my left and a burning fire to my right. It's heavenly.

Now if only my laptop didn't have a dodgy soundcard that put a low-grade hiss over everything.

excellent ! Thank you.

I've got a lemur and a waterfall to my right... and a snowstorm and thunder to my left. The lemur sounds a little agitated, probably due to the thunder.
My girlfriend is learning to play the banjo and it's so damned loud that often I sit browsing the 'net with Rainymood.com playing through some headphones. It's got a 30 minute loop, but unfortunately doesn't feature any distressed lemurs.

It's funny that they have a sound for snowstorm, because the thing that always strikes me about snow (unless it's really windy) is the silence. The snow deadens all the noise, and everything more than fifty yards away might as well be a mile.

Also, ye Christ, lemurs?! Who the hell wants to listen to that?

Cat purring + thunder + heartbeat = peace.

Aw, poor lemurs - but then I always go for the jungle/rainforest theme on sound machines because of the animal noises.

On my laptop, that goes away if you unplug the power. Gotta have a charged-up battery though...

I'm totally at the beach in the forest, walking through the snow.

Where I'm from, "brown noise" is not something usually thought of as relaxing.

Oh my god, this is amazing. Thank you.
