So, it's like Ouendan but without the hilarious Japanese cheering squad and ridiculous savings of the days? Maybe I'll take a proper crack at it tomorrow.

To cheat with regards to the space-bar prompts, just hold it down. Doesn't seem like the game cares if it's pressed or not, even when no such prompt is on screen.
