Not a call-out, I just love this guy's stuff. I went down to the park with my daughter to play in the water and look for crayfish, and I had the idea of making a little boat to float in the lake. My daughter was captivated despite my crude boat-smithing skills. When I got home I decided to search the internet for driftwood boats, found his filckr pool, and spent four hours or so, rapt.

That's great! I do this all the time myself whenever I stumble upon a stream in the woods. Been doing it since I was a kid, now 25 and don't plan to stop. Fun to see that other grownups do it too! posted by bloody_bonnie at 9:50 PM on July 27, 2010

I used to make submarines out of rocks. They were supposed to be boats, but after some initial testing, I realized they made way better submarines. posted by Xoebe at 11:22 AM on July 28, 2010
