It's all about predicting where you'll have to click. posted by Solon and Thanks at 3:37 PM on August 13, 2010
Heh. Captures the original well, with some nice funny touches, though unfortunately I found the original awful as a game.
There seems to be a bit of a movement at the moment to make cutscenes, which are hateful enough allready, more more interactive in the Dragons Lair mold. It's a concept so vile it makes me want to puke. posted by Artw at 3:53 PM on August 13, 2010 [1 favorite]
Well, I was utterly rubbish at that but laughed my way to a series of grisly ends, so thanks. posted by Abiezer at 4:02 PM on August 13, 2010

I like the gruesome stick figure deaths (and, being on a trackpad, experienced quite a few of them right away). Will finish this when a mouse is available. Looks good so far; thanks for this. posted by Hardcore Poser at 4:16 PM on August 13, 2010
You know, I hated Dragon's Lair back in the day, but that was actually a lot of fun.
Yes, to get the fully immersive experience, take an empty tissue box and a stack of quarters and place them at your computer. Every time you die, throw a few quarters in the box.
(No cheating, stop when you run out)
(or you can pretend you're the arcade manager and cackle while you dump out the tissue box) posted by cavalier at 4:32 PM on August 13, 2010 [5 favorites]

Thank you, this is great. Dragon's Lair remains the only game I have beaten in an arcade with a crowd of people chanting and cheering me on. It was almost worth the quarters it took to get there. posted by umberto at 9:04 PM on August 13, 2010
Oh God, the memories of "Dragon's Lair". I was obsessed with that game at the time. I used to spend every lunchtime in a little arcade on Tottenham Court road, pouring coins into the thing. There was me and one other guy who used to take it in turns, getting a little further each time and learning from each other's mistakes. I got to kill the dragon first and the pride I felt was beyond all reason. The grief and sense of loss I felt shortly afterwards on realising that it was now over was even more pathetic. posted by Decani at 2:56 AM on August 14, 2010
