Listening to the Maria Schneider Orchestra now. Very nice.

The Schneider Orchestra is great! Unfortunately though, we get nothing of the performances by Chick Corea, or Herbie Hancock or Brubeck, but I suppose that's understandable, given their status and whatever their contracts do and don't allow.

Powerhouse Sound? Marshall Allen, Joe Morris and Matthew Shipp? Awesome--thanks, kenko.

You are my new hero, NPR. And you, too, kenko. Listening to Powerhouse Sound right now!

I wish it were still called "(((Powerhouse Sound)))".

Thanks for this! Just finished listening to Julian Lage - very cool jazz/country/world/etc. guitar player with a cellist and hand percussion. But better than that sounds. Ken Vandermark''s up next.
