Can't snark. Too busy grinning. posted by Trochanter at 5:34 PM on August 30, 2010
For the first 5 seconds I was all, "oh no, this poor dog is made to dress up in stupid clothes and do tricks for its stupid human!" And then I spent the rest of the video with a big dumb grin on my face because THIS WAS AWESOME AND HILARIOUS. And both the dog and the human seemed to be having a great time. WIN. posted by phunniemee at 5:35 PM on August 30, 2010 [1 favorite]

His tail's wagging the whole time - he loves it! posted by Wataki at 5:41 PM on August 30, 2010
The dog's tail was wagging too much for me to suppose she was trained harshly. Like most golden retrievers at any given point, she was having a big old time.
I wonder if they've tried to teach Faith to dance. posted by Countess Elena at 5:42 PM on August 30, 2010
Wow. Quintessential repellent and fascinating -- and I gotta admit, that damn dog seems to be wagging AND grinning. They definitely need a better venue -- the parking lot just doesn't live up to the act. posted by thinkpiece at 5:43 PM on August 30, 2010
I'm going back to sleep. posted by TwelveTwo at 5:46 PM on August 30, 2010
That was amazing. I was smiling, clapping and laughing so much, my own dog hobbled over to see what was up. I showed her the video and said, "See? This is what you and I are going to do once you are well. We are going to be a dancing sensation in our own right". I cried when she reminded me that her tail is docked and she can't stand upright for long periods of time because it throws off her balance. posted by msali at 5:47 PM on August 30, 2010
God, I can't deal. Dogs try SO HARD to make us love them. I know it works and everything, but it just hurts my heart to see the lengths they will go to to please us. I want a pet with a little emotional autonomy! This is why I keep animals that randomly bite me in my sleep. posted by something something at 5:47 PM on August 30, 2010 [8 favorites]

This dog would be a FAR BETTER choice for Dancing With The Stars than Bristol Palin or The Situation. posted by briank at 5:55 PM on August 30, 2010
This is proof that cats are superior to dogs as cats would never let themselves be subjected to such tomfoolery.
But really, I did enjoy this video and I equally love cats and dogs. posted by MaryDellamorte at 6:02 PM on August 30, 2010

I can't imagine how long it took to train that dog. Impressive, but at the same time, there had to have been moments like
"Hey, man, I have an extra ticket to the superbowl. Wanna go?"
"No, I can't. Still teaching the dog to merengue." posted by sanko at 6:12 PM on August 30, 2010 [9 favorites]

Yes. I actually waited for more people to comment so that "He fucks that dog when they're alone" would be off of the screen when I showed this to my 10 year old. Fortunately we watched before the jackass who contributed "fake and gay" piped in which his valuable contribution to the marketplace of ideas.

And since the dog only wags his tail when on hind legs, I'd suggest its for balance not an expression of enjoyment. posted by dobbs at 7:15 PM on August 30, 2010

Basically the story says that Carrie has been the joy and blessing of José, his owner, he wanted to have a dog as a company for his life, and since she was little she started to stand in her back legs, and he started to show her some secrets by giving her treats and much love. They know each other feelings very well, she also likes to go out with her stray friends and play outside. She helps inside the house, because her owner suffers of pains in his feet.
Really, it's worth it just to watch her cross the street on her hind legs. posted by louche mustachio at 10:57 PM on August 30, 2010 [1 favorite]
And then there's this merengue song about a dog (NSFW starting around 1:40): Comprate un Perro. The best thing about this song for me is that I learned it from a bunch of eight-year-olds. posted by slidell at 11:40 PM on August 30, 2010

For everyone who hates crappy comments ruining YouTube, there's almost certainly greasemonkey scripts for hiding them. I haven't tried this one but it was the first thing that came up in a google search for "youtube comment hider" posted by arcolz at 6:38 AM on August 31, 2010

Yeah, sweet though it was, I can't help thinking she will have hip problems in older age for trying to be a bipedal mammal for so long. Some breeds are better at this than others, depending on their physique and centre of gravity. posted by binturong at 8:23 AM on August 31, 2010 [1 favorite]

If she doesn't, there MUST be an attempt to breed her with another bipedal canine to kick-start some dancy-dog evolutionary progress. I swear to god, if Bob Barker got anywhere near that bitch, I'll... posted by Sys Rq at 8:41 AM on August 31, 2010 [2 favorites]
