Ghosts of World War Two

"Taking old World War II photos, Russian photographer Sergey Larenkov carefully photoshops them over more recent shots to make the past come alive."

These photos are taken throughout Europe, in Berlin, Prague, Vienna and other cities. Larenkov's LJ has larger photos, although the text is in Russian.

As a photoshop hater, I love this. And I am wishing for more photographers to do it, in more places. I cannot count the times I have stood at a historic site, trying to visualize the events that took place there. I am just sad that photography itself is of such recent vintage -- one can't go very far back.
