Oh man, Downtime Town was just recommended to me by a fellow at a bar in the strongest of words. And sure enough if I didn't spend that whole night consuming it. Gotta love his enthusiasm.
Also, how does he have the time to play all these games so thoroughly? posted by breath at 1:10 AM on September 12, 2010
Unfortunately, Robert hasn't updated the site in a few months (probably because he's getting ready to film the second series of his TV show, Burnistoun).
For more super-enthusiastic nerdy board game videos, I like Tom Vasel's reviews for The Dice Tower. Breath, if you think Robert can't possibly have the time to get into these games so thoroughly, Vasel is going to blow your mind into sticky red clumps. posted by dudekiller at 7:06 AM on September 12, 2010 [1 favorite]

Overwatch, baby.
Spend two action points, and any time a new game comes into sight you can take a shot at it. posted by ecurtz at 7:07 AM on September 12, 2010 [2 favorites]
He is very... enthusiastic. I am in favor of this. posted by GenjiandProust at 8:02 AM on September 12, 2010
ZAA OOO ZAA!
We purchased Memoir on the basis of a DT review. The Dice Tower is also great for two reasons: the way he puts sweets into the boxes to keep his kids interested when they review things together, and the fact that, according to BoardGameGeek, he has 996 games. NINE HUNDRED AND NINETY SIX. posted by mippy at 1:13 PM on September 12, 2010
breath: Gotta love his enthusiasm.
The reason I love his reviews is that they're recommendations. I don't play enough boardgames to really benefit from reviews of poor games and his videos are essentially just like having a friend tell you about this game they really love. posted by Kattullus at 3:32 PM on September 12, 2010
I can't believe WotC put out that Planechase garbage. Dice? Really? A fucking travesty. posted by empath at 4:48 PM on September 12, 2010
His Space Hulk review is a thing of beauty, and tipped me over the edge to buying a copy of the recent 20th anniversary reprint. posted by Happy Dave at 2:25 AM on September 13, 2010
