Napster refuses to die, promises viable business modelwhich you can now download for free. Someone tell these people that the dot-com "I've got no way of paying you anything other than stock options" boom is over. If I have to pay for the service of downloading software from a central server, the P2P model is useless. Morons.

Hey! I never stole songs off napster, I just paid the artists with stock options.

On these new systems like the legal Napster, MusicNet and Pressplay it won't be possible to actually keep music you download. Like the exploding Mission Impossible tape, tracks will self-destruct after 30 days. There will be a maximum of 50 or so tracks per month. And of course you won't be able to burn to CD or transfer to an MP3 player. In addition, they'll probably be as expensive as buying a new CD album every month. So it begs the question: why bother?
