Mallory shops, therefore she is.

Mallory's Clothes. As per the Tumblr description, a comprehensive rundown, in chronological order, of Mallory Keaton's outfits from the series Family Ties (1982-1989). Found by Matthew Perpetua (behind the Fluxblog mp3 blog), then also discovered by Justine Bateman herself.

That's pretty cool. Just stop and think what an impact the internet has had on our culture -- I mean, that's just funny right there.

Also, this Tumblr, does it vibrate? Are all tumblr blogs that tiny and hard to follow?

....this is pretty much the intersection of Desperation St and Unemployment Ave here.

Inserting Mallory into Back to the Future (tumblr) also works pretty great.

I love the internet. I LOVE IT. This is what the internet is for, right here- this kind of obsessive fandom catalog.

This is awesome -- it totally reminds me of What Claudia Wore, which is also awesome.

That is freakin' awesome. And Justine Bateman has a Tumblr account! Very, very cool.

How does Justine Bateman have a Tumblr account?

What sort of obsession caused this? And is it treatable with modern medicine?

To clarify, at least we know this is Justine's Twitter - and she mentions it there.

This is a fantastic find, definitely the best of the web. Let's ignore the naysaying and wear ourselves some sweaters.

Wow, she looks an awful lot like Michael Bluth. I wonder what's up with that?

Actually, I know what is up with that, thank you very much.

A few quick notes about this:

- I am kind of surprised at how contemporary some of the looks are. Isn't American Apparel selling clothes exactly like this right now, and if so should we keep Justine away from Dov Charney?

- Does anyone else find the crewneck sweaters a little irritating on Mallory? It looks like her sweater is strangling her in a bunch of the pics.

- Did the Gunne Sax trend carry that far into the 1980s?

item: Maybe I'm a'missin' sumptin'?

Come on, everyone knows that Tumblr requires users to obscure and confuse the source of anything posted!

As for Justine's Tumblr, I imagine her setup process went like this:

Choose your Tumblr name

JustineBateman

Sorry, taken

JBateman

sorry, taken

JustineBtmn

sorry, taken -- here are some suggestions: JustinBootman, IHeartJustineBitemarks11774, JasonBatemansTumblr, Tanya77, JostensClassRings, JimmyBSpace...

Fuck this. *selects "Tanya77"*

This is surely just a warm-up for the True Purpose Of The Internet: the same, but with Kelly Bundy.

I feel the same way, which is why I've always had such confused feelings for Jason.

That's a lot of devotion to a very specific part of fashion and television.

What we really need is a Mrs Ropers Clothes website. TV today just doesn't respect the muumuu anymore.

Somehow the stray shots in which Alex appears in the frame burying his head in his hands at Mallory's insipidity or slapping his forehead (often wearing clothes very similar to Marty McFly's) are even creepier.

Looking at this, I can't help but get the creepy feeling that we are viewing the tiny, family-friendly tip of this guy's mammoth iceberg of obsession. Somewhere beneath the placid surface, Tina Yothers/Meredith Baxter fanfic lurks.

Look at that face. Justine Bateman was always as cute as a button.

And tastefully dressed, minimally accessorized, and not slathered underneath layers of makeup.

These slideshow montages would be greatly enhanced by a continuously playing loop of the opening intro to the Family Ties theme. But never shall it get to "I bet we've been together for a million years."

I once did the same thing, but with Bob Newhart, from the 70s era Bob Newhart show> The initial idea was to do every single suit, but halfway into season 1, I gave up, and made it a 10 best list. But seriously, His suits on that show were amazing.

Remember that episode where Jennifer and Mallory went to the mall and they bought new jeans and they paid extra to have holes punched into the knees so that they wouldn't look new and their dad was angry? That was the best episode ever! I loved Mallory. Mallory and Denise Huxtable were the two coolest tv girls of the 80s.. I wanted to be both of them all at once!

billyfleetwood: Agreed about Bob Newhart's suits! Feel free to link... you know, if you want...!

palomar: Justine's middle name is Tanya.

That's almost depressing; I thought it was maybe something else.

Speaking of, if anyone wants to do a Mallory Keaton/Patty Hearst mash-up, I would watch it.

And by watch it, I mean give you my first born.
