I suspect that Ginsberg probably got into the whole trance thing in one way or another, or knew someone who truned him on to it. Dylan I'm not so sure about.

I played a bass solo over top of that for a few minutes but I got annoyed by the slight lag when it looped.

I was lazy and didn't bother to turn on the sound. So it was sort of like a silent movie for me, and probably not very different from what you all experienced.

I had WFMU going under this. They were playing a rather lo-fi version of the Velvet Underground's Sweet Jane

The two worked surprisingly well together, though I would probably more impressed if I were high.

I declare this the 93rd-best thing on the internet. Worth it for Ginsberg's bobbing head. As a rock enthusiast though, let me say it needs more Yug.

After about five minutes for something to happen, I started yelling "TAKE IT TO THE BRIDGE" at the top of my lungs at the screen, my eyes all twitchy after watching those signs fall over and over and over and then I threw my laptop across the room and I could see the flickering light against the shag carpet of my livingroom floor undulating and oonceing and THEN THEY TOOK IT TO THE BRIDGE and I was so happy and I danced to the music streaming from the rug-muffled speakers.

See, this is why my wife blocked YTMND on our firewall.

I just found the backstory to OONCE OONCE. It's an art project. At a museum. Complete with guff.

Digital material is never natural. It is either generated or repurposed, and always pre-inscribed with meaning. It settles in sediments, turning the Web into a veritable billboard land: a frenetic free market in which corporations, private citizens, and fictional conglomerates all wave their own signs. It is a landscape rich with fiction, contradictions, and disjuncture. The new quickly becomes obsolete, and the old is continually revived. Internet-based montage, the assemblage of distinct materials into a new whole, is therefore both an inevitable and perpetual accident and an emerging, illuminating art form.

(Does this make this post Oonce Oonce Blue?)
