Ladies and gentlemen, I present the real Shakes the clown. This guy is both amusing and pathetic at the same time. He's the kind of clown I would hire.

I'd definitely take him to lunch.
But I'd better get a balloon kitty out of the deal, damnit.

17 pounds? Handing out balloons to children? Hmmm...

"A stint in the Marine Corps, which included a 22-month tour in Vietnam, and five years in prison trained him for the early wake-up calls."

Finally! A way to train myself to wake-up early! Prison!

On another note, what is the deal with clowns? I personally don't have any feeling one way or the other about them, but I know quite a few people who HATE them. Passionately and irrationally (well, irrationally to me) Is it fear? Is this from watching some horror movie as a kid? Or the fact that you can't see their faces? What?

I love this gem:
"I drink my beer. I got one kidney so I got to keep it working. I have a few beers a day but I'm not a drunk."

I'm going to use that excuse to drink at work. "But boss, I gotta keep my kidneys working!"

"MIMES!!!!!!!"

You silent motherfuckers!

Ah, by far the funniest line Adam Sandler's ever uttered in his entire misbegotten career.

Witchstone:
Actually, irrational fear of clowns is rather common in children, and often not traceable to any particular traumatic moment. Nobody has been able to figure out why.

Someone mentioned in a recent thread that the reason Asians all look the same to some people has to do with the way we process facial features, etc. Maybe it's a similar thing here. Since clown's features are usually exaggerated/distorted, maybe some kids just aren't able to deal with it as well as others, and end up scarred by it?
