I'd definitely take him to lunch.

"A stint in the Marine Corps, which included a 22-month tour in Vietnam, and five years in prison trained him for the early wake-up calls."
Finally! A way to train myself to wake-up early! Prison!
On another note, what is the deal with clowns? I personally don't have any feeling one way or the other about them, but I know quite a few people who HATE them. Passionately and irrationally (well, irrationally to me) Is it fear? Is this from watching some horror movie as a kid? Or the fact that you can't see their faces? What? posted by witchstone at 11:42 AM on August 29, 2001
Witchstone:
Actually, irrational fear of clowns is rather common in children, and often not traceable to any particular traumatic moment. Nobody has been able to figure out why.
Someone mentioned in a recent thread that the reason Asians all look the same to some people has to do with the way we process facial features, etc. Maybe it's a similar thing here. Since clown's features are usually exaggerated/distorted, maybe some kids just aren't able to deal with it as well as others, and end up scarred by it? posted by Su at 2:45 PM on August 29, 2001
Is it just more or has the link ceased working altogether? posted by Option1 at 7:37 PM on August 29, 2001
