I saw a midnight screening of a restored print of Bride of Frankenstein early this year and it was an amazing experience. It's such a lovely/bizarre/dark film, I'm amazed they released it in the 30s. The christian imagery is jarring (in a good way), and you do feel for the monster when the bride, the girl made just for him, rejects him the minute she sees him. posted by Omon Ra at 5:27 AM on November 13, 2010 [1 favorite]
This is stunningly cool. I've seen most of these stills over the years, but the quality of these and having them all in one place is a treat. Thanks! posted by Slack-a-gogo at 6:56 AM on November 13, 2010
God, I love those movies. I also love the fact that the sets were reused to make Young Frankenstein. Waste not, want not. Spare brain? Auugggnnnnnhhhh....... posted by ninazer0 at 1:47 PM on November 13, 2010
