This is wacky Taiwan news' take on the leaked body scans and other TSA scandals.

This post was deleted for the following reason: Wacky Taiwanese Animation is pretty thin for a post. -- cortex

I don't know how actually taiwanese or actually-on-the-news this is, but, the site that the video is from, nma.tv seems to have quite a bit of, uh, random content...

Sorry ~ I checked for duplication but, yes, I see now that this team has been featured before with their take on a different topic.

You know, if somebody really wants to see a fuzzy, blobby, oddly colored scanner image of my naked body that looks like some sort of character from a bad SciFi channel Star Trek knock-off, that's their problem.

The AtlanticWire article is kinda dumb. It cites a comment that warns about "radiation leakage from a device that can pick you up from ten feet away," but if you check out the type of device that was being used it's a passive one - it works by intercepting millimeter-wave radiation that's naturally present, just like a camera works by intercepting light that's already there. So this machine really doesn't present any health risk at all.

You know, if I were a conspiracy minded person I'd wonder if there'd been a decision that "we can't afford all this security theater any more... besides, all of the "real" terrorists are our guys. Let's get Joe Lunchbox worked up about the TSA and roll it back. Inform our cable news people... oh, and call the Poser guys in Taiwan."

Fact check leaked the images are not TSA scans, but from Florida marshals. The leaked images were also taken by a differentachine than those used in airports.

I wonder if there's any way on earth the TSA can reframe this story to get people back on their side? Maybe something along these lines: You would strip naked for doctors to let them make sure no horrible hidden things were going to kill you, right? And even let them use a machine to scan your guts? Well, this is the same thing, only we need to scan everyone else's guts and see everyone else naked to make sure you stay well, and in fairness all we ask is that we also get to scan your guts and see you naked so we can to make sure all the other people on the plane stay well. It's really a health issue. We want you to return home to your family safely. We love you.

Nah. They're fucked.

So you're just giving in, The 10th Regiment of Foot? That's how we got here in the first place.

I thought these broadcasts were PFFR's doing. Given that the animation looks straight out of Xavier: Renegade Angel.

The look of steely determination is what really makes the pic. The only way it could be better would be if he had a bit of his tongue sticking out the side of his mouth.
