Why is this here? MetaFilter does not do Angry Birds well. Where's the flag for Good God, the little sounds the birds make as they launch, then fail, then launch, then fail -- it's like aural crack ... posted by maudlin at 6:42 AM on November 24, 2010
Can we all agree the boomerang birds are the real problem?
Absolutely. I hate those damn boomerang birds--I usually just find ways to launch them head first into things rather than boomeranging them.
The arrival of the big fat birds after dealing with the boomerangs is such a welcome relief.
And the Android Market is a pusher. I have steadfastly refused to download this, but it's always sitting there at the top of the apps list, taunting me with it's "FREE" label. Sure, sure...it won't cost me a thing, monetarily. posted by JaredSeth at 6:47 AM on November 24, 2010
I had to look up 'Angry Birds' and now understand that it "is a puzzle video game developed by Rovio, a developer based in Finland. Since its release for Apple's iPhone and iPod Touch devices, over 10 million copies of the game have been purchased, and versions have appeared for other touchscreen-based smartphones." boo_radley it is not set up like an analogy so I must be missing something.

Morganannie, yes, what boo_radley made was more of an allusion, but the video itself is an analogy to a particular geo-political conflict that is not one of metafilter's more successful conversation topics. posted by thusspakeparanoia at 7:20 AM on November 24, 2010

Holy shit, I am SO tired of mefi arguing over whether or not the Angry Birds or the pigs are to blame for the mess they're in. You know what you people need to do? Step back, take a look at some articlesabout the issue, and think it through. There are no easy answers here. Yes, the birds want their eggs back. But the pigs require (yes, REQUIRE) eggs to live. And to be honest, if some eggs get eaten before they hatch, who's going to be worse off? Are we really going to mourn the loss of a few extra Boomerang Birds, those inconsistent vascillators who might spin off at any damn angle depending on which point in their arc they're at? Some of you people need to EDUCATE YOURSELVES and stop being ruled by your LIBERAL BIAS. posted by Greg Nog at 7:46 AM on November 24, 2010 [21 favorites]

Oh Fuck You Greg Nog. Fuck you and your imperialist Pig driven agenda.
While your crazy fucking government continues to fund the pigs, these birds are losing their eggs at a greater and greater rate. Yeah - Pigs need eggs. Nobody denies that. But they don't need ALL THE EGGS.! They don't need to continue building higher and higher Walls to deprive the Birds of eggs which used to be theirs theirs. And don't give me that "Pigs were deprived eggs in the '40s and need to stockpile eggs' bullshit. Truth of the matter is that the pigs are the oppressors now.
