The inevitable: Hitler does Wikileaks.
This post was deleted for the following reason: Downfall parodies are overdone -- mathowie
Can we give the Hitler meme a rest for a while? I'd like to remember it fondly, instead of as a meme that tried to hang on way too long.

Generally, the inevitable doesn't need a post on Metafilter.

Well, cortex will probably delete this.
But not before I quote Julian Assange:
"We thought we would have the analytical work done by bloggers and people who wrote Wikipedia articles and so on.... It is my experience that it is not, with some exceptions, their goal to expose the truth. Rather, it is their goal to position themselves amongst their peers on whatever the issue of the day is. The most effective, the most economical way to do that, is simply to take the story that's going around, [which] has already created a marketable audience for itself, and say whether they're in favor of that interpretation or not."
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.

That's a great quote, twoleftfeet. Oh, and here's Reporters Without Borders' statement about the move to push Wikileaks off the web.

Mblue: "Say again octothorpe ?"
If it's so predictable that the poster can describe as "The inevitable:", it probably doesn't warrant a post.

It's inevitable that the Wikileaks thing would be subsumed into a preexisting Internet meme such as the Downfall/Hitler meme.

That's an interesting theory. Most people use "inevitable" after the fact, and most people unaffected say"I saw that coming". Let's see if your correct in the future.

I love the Hitler meme but I have to say this one was pretty poor, especially considering how well it could have been done, given the subject.

Mein Fuhrer! The Allies, they are overusing this meme! We will be unable to remember it with fondness!

If the point of this was the clever subtitles, couldn't they have at least proofed it and removed the glaring mistakes?
