"Do I wear a toupee?" One blog takes up William Shatner's challenge with meticulous detail and scientific inquiry.

That was... weird. A lot of bluster about a show that aired almost 10 years ago. And after two readings I'm not sure what the hell it was really about.

That felt like a little piece of the old internet.

If "meticulous detail and scientific inquiry" is what the kids are calling overpadded blog posts that veer into absurd levels of speculation, then sure. I think that it was pretty obvious that he was losing his hair at the time of the original series, and the much-thicker hair that he had at the time of the first movie are all the proof I need that he'd switched to a hairpiece, but so what? Bruce Willis is wearing a wig in The Sixth Sense ZOMG.

A toupee cannot decrease the awesomeness of a Shatner system. This has been scientifically proved decades ago and verified by independent observers. It's basically a law of nature.

Leave Shatner alone. He's got more awesome in his pinkie than 10 Chuck Norrises.

I was at his house years ago for a fund-raising night. Pity I didn't decide to do the commando/ninja style raid to settle this question once and for all.

(I am of the toupee crowd, myself. I also believe Han shot first.)

Hey. Besides, he's Denny Crane.

his hair becomes submerged underwater!

Incredible! But not quite as incredible as when someone's hair becomes submerged above water!

Nobody considers the probability that Shatner has to wear a toupee to be awesome: That he never achieved his full powers until he became the toupee-rockin' William Fucking Shatner; That, just like Clark Kent's never going to admit to you that he likes wearing tights under his business suit, William Shatner's never going to tell you what helps him manifest his secret powers either.

So let him put whatever he wants on his head, and let him say whatever he wants about it. He's above reproach.

Wow, the toupelogical analyses in the right sidebar even include Pray for the Wildcats, a massively underrecognized jewel of Shatneria (with extra Robert Reed, and a genuinely, unironically great role for Andy Griffith as well). Now I've got to go and find a copy.

Shatner wearing a toup comes nowhere near the impact of the moment in "Space Cowboys" where Donald Sutherland removes his dentures.

Does Shatner wear a toupee?
Very well then Shatner wears a toupee,
(Shatner is large, Shatner contains multitudes.)

Whether toupee or not toupee, this is beyond awesome.
