Anyone interested in UK version of SXSW? With all the talk of SXSW in the USA right now, are there people out there (like me) who think it'd be great to have a UK (or maybe European) meet ?

Would we get the sponsorship?
SXSW is a big deal...lots of corporate money, I hear.

And it should be in Ireland ;-)

from someone who lives in austin and is currently attending, just remember that sxsw has been around for a long, long time. and the huge amounts of corporate money is a relatively new concept.

if it was done in Ireland it would be swamped by corporate money - in fact on second thoughts, let's not have it here - it'd be commericalised before you knew it.
I think the best thing is to hire a hall, have a huge party and organise it ourselves ;-)
