Almost seems like a remake of the superior I'm On A Boat.

Finally a song to surpass "The Bad Touch" as a nation's joyful ode to boning.

Mod note: Flag and move on, folks. That goes both for thread-initial "I don't think this is a good post" comments (in which case, flag the post, don't leave a comment) and responses to such things that turn the thread into a metacommentary discussion (again, flag that comment, don't reply to it).

If you feel like something needs discussing, that's what Metatalk is for.

I think that it must be as tiring for them to write and produce these as it is for us to all get really excited about yet another zany Andy Samberg music video.

Jessica Alba doesn't even have lines and she still can't act convincingly.

I see what they are driving at, but they need to play it straighter to really mock the over-celebration of sex.

I was just thinking she does a hella good bitch face, but maybe that's not acting.

I LOL'd at the McEnroe cameo.

I don't think Fred Armisen has been in a single Lonely Island digital short.

I am now fully convinced that Lorne Michaels should retire and hand the reigns to Akiva Schaffer.

Well, if it was bitch face they wanted, Blake Lively was perfect casting.

HIIOOOOOOOO Boo Blake! Team Robin Lively! TEEN WITCH FTW.

Casting Blake Lively was perfect because her character on Gossip Girl will sleep with anything that moves. I think next she's gonna sleep with Rufus.

He was Mahmoud Ahmenijadwhatchamacallit in "Iran So Far".

I didn't really care for the video. However I will confess that I have occasionally felt that way after having sex.

Maybe it's only because I saw the Traveling Pants movie, but Blake Lively is such a beautiful girl. I don't see any bitch face at all.

Oh, dammit, you're right. All right, kill them all.

Fred Armisen could have been well used in this video.

I wonder when they filmed the stuff in Times Square? If they did in fact film live in Times Square?

And to think it's probably inspired by Joanna Newsom.

There's a real progression in these videos, rap songs playing out a coming-of-age narrative (no pun intended?). First Samberg just wants a lazy sunday with his pal - no women in the picture. Then he realizes he wants sex, but his dick is in a box (literally, metaphorically). Then he manages to jizz in his pants. Finally, years later, he has sex and it's triumphant. It's like the ultimate underdog Rocky story.

Did anyone else think Jeff Bridges was underused in that episode of SNL? I was expecting something like a Laser Cats/Tron mashup or a riff on The Dude, or even some fun poked at some of his dramatic roles, but no, it was not to be. I feel like I got Jeff'd.

Ironic, considering the topic of the thread just before this one. Sort of like the pinnacle and the trough of humanity, summed up in two metafilter posts.

Mod note: the moving on part of flagging and moving on means not telling people you flagged them. Again, we have metatalk, it is for this.

The current crop of writers on SNL seems to be just kind of writing the same three episodes over and over. Oh, we did 'What Up With That?' last week? This week let's do that thing where Kristen Wiig talks like Marilyn Monroe but is really disgusting in some way. Last week we did the family where everyone kisses each other? This week let's do the Miley Cyrus Show.

It seems like they've gotten so far into this habit that the guest stars are mostly an afterthought. I mean, shit, when Jane Lynch was on they even did a Glee sketch and she barely showed up in it.

This week let's do the Miley Cyrus Show.

I was surprised reading about this week's show that they did this skit again already. I feel like they just introduced it, and they've already done it at least 3 times.

I mean don't get me wrong, I'm glad I don't have to come up with 90 minutes of material every week. But on the other hand I never, ever, ever wrote a Larry King sketch in which the joke was that Larry King farts.

I remember in university when you went to class after a long and intensive night with your GF it felt like wanting to burst out into singing a song of this portent.

Yes, sometimes we humans are that simple.

I've been writer for a (very amateur) sketch group, I doff my hat to the SNL writers. Doff it hard.

Our best received acts were as follows

Transvestite Muppets (The whole troop in dresses singing the muppet theme some accompanied by kazoo as an opening number)
Transvestite Fairy/ Over Cleaning Demi-God/Santa's Best Reindeer. (All the same Character)
Killing Stomping Tom Conners live on stage. (Staged his death with a double as an opening act)

Our lesser bits

An Epic battle between a septuagenarian history teacher and deaf librarian

The "Body Jok" an althletic protector for one's entire person.

The Un-produced "Gremlin Court"

Grade 9 initiation and Balloon Beatings.

Twas the night before Christmas (As written by Todd McFarlane)

etc.

[ It was high school, and at least most of our stuff was original bits, the troop we took over the reigns from had been performing Kids in the Hall and SNL bits before they were forcibly disbanded for breaching good taste rules, thus the Body Jok was not that funny and the Grade 9 initiation bit involved baloons and not the bats we planned ]

So yeah, I have a great dealof respect for the SNL writers, and especially the Lonely Island guys who can turn out some really funny stuff; even if my favorite bit in the last 10 years was the Sex in the City "I'm a Dude" bit starring Christina Aguilera.

"Gremlin Court" sounds way funnier than anything I've seen on SNL in quite some time.
