Dating Denial of Service

OkTrends confirms that the more objectively attractive a woman, the more likely she is to be contacted by a man. One man's solution? Dating Denial of Service.

(from hacker news, but the...lack of outrage on hacker news is rather startling).

This sounds more like a honeypot setup diverting unwanted traffic (from the POV of the perpetrator.) Male users carpet-bombing attractive-looking women in their 20s is a known problem with online dating - if this bit of hacking makes dating sites respond and create better usability the way Google responds to SEO fuckery we'll get a better experience in the end.

Just yesterday, my smart, funny, popular, Nigella-Lawson-lookalike friend introduced me to the guy she's been dating for the past couple of months. He's an Ayn-Rand-reading virgin who works a crappy night job, lives in a sharehouse with 5 other dudes and has enough body hair to weave an elaborate Persian rug. She met him online.

Now I understand how this happened. Thanks, Metafilter!

(Not that body hair = bad, by the way. But we were at the beach, and some man-grooming was definitely in order.)

What it sounds like is misogynistic bullshit.

I have to agree with empath on this one. And the meat of this post is a link to a single comment at Reddit? The whole thing stinks of a troll.

It's a pretty crappy post for Hacker News. Surprised it got upvoted so many times.

"objectively attractive"?

Measured on the Tapthat Scale, where one tapthat is equivalent to the inverse of one bonerkiller. Distribution of the female population is normalised around 5 tapthats.

What it sounds like is misogynistic bullshit.

You're asserting that the OP hates women because he found a creative way to attract one?
