pwsnt takes upon itself a vigilante effort to post pictures daily of people on Facebook and other social media making racist remarks and not censoring their names.

The cognitive dissonance between the hateful bile and the bright Web 2.0 design of Facebook is weirding me out. I'm expecting to see this shit on a Geocities site with rotating, flaming skull gifs, and not a cheery "+1 Add as Friend" button.

The saddest part is when people in their lives (often apparently women, and I'm guessing girfriends/sisters/etc) comment on these posts to say some variant of "Don't say that, it's incredibly evil!". So we can't even give them the grace to assume they're in an echo chamber and can't know better; they just really like to hate people they don't know.
Also, a lot of these status updates seemed to be preceded or followed by ones like "Looking for work..." or "They cut mah soldier's pay!". This excuses nothing, of course, it... it's just so utterly expected...

Wow, do the boys ever outnumber the girls.
I remember my high school social studies teacher saying racist groups attracted young white men who did not have jobs, women, family or friends. Racism seems to be one of those things that brings people together regardless of what else is going on in their life - if it only it was more for the good kind of bringing together :S

To be fair, there is one that just jumped out at me, where his use of the word is to complain about the word being only usable by certain people (a reasonable enough complaint) and then "but nigger only means ignorance".
Which is of course ridiculous, as is his spelling, etc, but not necessarily evidence of overt racism (like some of the other more obvious racists on this site). I sadly am even acquaintances with people who are 19-20, here in Seattle, who use gay/fag to just mean "dumb" or "lame". If you asked them, they'd totally be pro-gay rights, gay marriage, etc (again- this is Seattle) but the term gets tossed around easily among some people because it doesn't even mean anything to them anymore. Or rather, it means something totally different to some people of that generation.
I think some of the people categorized here are at a far different part of the pwsnt spectrum than others, using an offensive term flippantly as an all-purpose put-down that's practically stripped of its historical meaning when they invoke it.

Calling people who make racist remarks hideous mutant rednecks not only substitutes classism for racism, it is also in conflict with the service this website believes itself to be doing. If racism is equivalent to a mutation, i.e. a biological phenomenon, then admonishing racists is a necessarily fruitless endeavor. Vitriolic language doesn't help anyone express their opposition to racism, and, in this case, it works against it.
