Fiancee and I want to enter
this contest (LINK NSFW!!!). We have some rough sketches of our "screenplay", such as it is, but no camera or video editing equipment, software, or know-how. Deadline for submissions is late summer so we have ample time for shooting. Obviously looking for someone open-minded and not offended by nudity and pornography.

We're expanding our pet store empire to include a third location and I need a binding document that outlines the equity agreement between myself and my partner. We have different equity splits in each location but so far have been operating as a single LLC. Our entire relationship has been a handshake deal and oral agreements but need to codify it. We are in Washington State.

Nothing fancy. I own two pet stores in Seattle, WA. We haven't updated our site (www.petsenergy.com) since we expanded and it's hopelessly obsolete. We don't need anything cutting edge but we definitely need to upgrade it. I am open to any creative ideas. We of course will provide all the copy and photographs, etc. We also need to make our store more prominent when people search on the web. I've budgeted money for the job and would be pleased to supplement that with bartered pet food and supplies if that's feasible. Thanks!

Please to advise a friend on how she might get out of a situation where she owns a house with an ex who does not share her goal of a clean severance.

What goes through a dog's mind when it sees you picking up their shit? What goes through a dog's mind when it smells human pee while out on a walk?

Work dreams. I work as a bartender, and after particularly busy shifts, I often dream all night of work-related scenes. [More inside]

There
once was a great band called the
Rustic Overtones from Portland, Maine. In 1996 I had the pleasure of seeing them live a couple times, and they were really, really. good. David Bowie
produced a song on one of their albums. Does anybody remember them and happen to know what the individuals in the band are doing?

I just rented
The Last Samurai last night and really loved it. But it reminded me of a question I have every time I see a movie with battle scenes with horses (a la Braveheart). How do they get those horses to do all those horse "stunts"? They must inevitably break dozens if not hundreds of legs. Can horses be trained to fall as if shot? And doesn't the cacophony of all the explosions on the set freak them out?

The New York Press lists the
50 most loathsome New Yorkers. Time to get your hate on! Here's a sample to get you started:
#18 Moby Musician
IT WAS BAD enough when Moby started singing;
now he's singing and talking at the same time. When not crooning school-girl poetry (see "We Are All Made of Stars") or desecrating classic punk songs between hissy fits on stage, the techno prophet cum vegan ethicist of the early 90s is schooling credulous fans on a wide range of contemporary issues. Between lessons in Nicaraguan history and tales of Rummy's early-80s holidays in Baghdad, Moby pontificates in prose that would make even DJ Spooky cringe ("We're so inherently locked into our temporal and corporeal selves that we're irrevocably locked into subjectivity") and Michael Stipe wince ("cos at the end of the day peace is better than war, right?"). We're thankful for "Go" and the car commercial songs on Play, but mister, please put your space helmet back on, get in your space ship and don't stop till you hit Pluto.

How much alcohol have YOU consumed in your life? Take the
"drink-o-meter" test. (Flash) I rated a "Homer Simpson", which means I could fill a few bathtubs, but haven't quite spent the Ferrari money. Something tells me that many of MeFi's finest will bury my score...

What makes Dogs happy? Food? Sex? Working? Being pampered and spoiled? A whole host of books are out there alternating between the belief that your dog is somewhere between a fuzzy-wuzzy lovey parasite and a quasi-human companion.

but has been significantly updated since that time with the addition of many new Flame Warriors. I thought it was worth another look-see. I hope it's new to most of you, because it's a good laugh.

There are those who play
Ping-pong and those who live Ping-Pong. As for me, it was the first game I was ever able to beat my Pops at. But no matter how good you think you are, there is always someone ready to wax your ass.
Printer-friendly version just for you y2karl!

"Feminism" isn't the problem
, it's Woman's Super Ego that's the problem.
"...there comes a time in every relationship when a woman has to be tender and empathetic. If she can't or won't do that, it doesn't matter if she has the face of Helen of Troy with George Eliot's mind."

Do Dogs Have History?
For those of you who participated in
this discussion a while back
(I linked here to the discussion, but be warned the FPP link from that discussion is to a gruesome, sad picture), the author of this book review elucidates many of the reasons why some of us love dogs as much (if not more than?) people.

State of the Union Drinking Game!
With this handy little game I might actually sit through the entire State of the Union speech. Take one drink every time the camera pans to a Democratic presidential hopeful. Take three drinks for every Supreme Court Justice that's asleep.

The Cult of the Gym
Anorexia and obesity have both been beaten to a bloody pulp...but how about "bigorexia", or "muscle dysmorphia."? It has many of the same characteristics as anorexia, such as never being satisfied with the way one looks no matter how big and muscular they get, and it shares with obesity the same propensity for discovering a "quick-fix" mentality. This author likens the cult of the gym to the pursuit of spiritual enlightenment through the church of one's choice.
