Advice for good piercing shops in NYC!
When I got my tongue pierced ages ago, I was told to carry around a mixture of half water, half listerine to rinse out my mouth after eating or drinking for the first week. I found that it healed pretty fast. It's now 9 years later, and I still have it, and still love it.

Hide your children. You think I'm joking.
Rosie M. Banks - You're not a freak. I'm 27 (been married for 2.5 years) and I've never wanted them for a second. I long for the day that I have enough money to get sterilized.

Why does Subway™ stink?
I used to work at Subway in college, and if I went to work with my hair still wet, and put it in a ponytail, by the end of the day when I got home and took my hair down, I just wanted to puke.

The perfect burrito?
One thing that I would really like to see, as picky as it may sound, is a guacamole option that doesn't include onions. I can't stand onions, and would really like guacamole on my burrito, but can never get that combination.

How can I make dosh in WoW?
I've made most of my money off the AH by way of ore. My main character is mining/engineering so I watch the prices of ore, and wait until it's at a pretty good price before selling. Now of course, I have to have a bank/mule character hold all of it for me until the price is right.
With engineering, I've made a lot of gold from selling Hi-Explosive bombs because there's a quest at Light's Hope Chapel where you need to turn in 8 of them (along with other stuff). I've also... [more]

Good wet food for kitties?
Our cats prefer the Science Diet wet food, but they only get it on holidays so they don't become addicted and then refuse the dry food.

Selsun Blue Is Not An Option. . . .
If she's heavy, she might not be able to groom as well, and that will result in more dandruff. The Omega 3 oils would be great for her. I'd also switch to a premium food. My cats eat Science Diet and their coats are great. One good product you might look into is Mrs Allen's Shed Stop. It helps to cut down on shedding and hairballs as well.

I kid you not.
Women who don't want children exist, I'm another one. My husband was ambivalent on the issue until we got together, and now he's firmly childfree as well. You might see if there's a chapter of the group No Kidding in your area. http://nokidding.net/ If you find someone through a dating website, I'd bring up the no children thing pretty fast, just to be sure.

Cat cremation - how does this work?
I work for a non-emergency vet and we are set up with a business called Pet Rest and they handle all of the cremations. We wrap the bodies in plastic and keep them in a fridge until the company comes down to get them every week.
Check this website out Pet Cemeteries and Crematories it has information for all over the country even.

How to make cats get along?
You might want to look into Feliway (link goes to the UK version of the site since the US version seems to be down). It's a product which reproduces certain pacifying properties of cat facial pheromones.
I haven't personally used it, but the feline-only vet I work for recommends it, and several of our clients have had success with it.

Non-cold-sore-inciting birth control?
I agree with soundslikeobiwan about the Lysine. I know this is a little bit of a stretch, but at the vet practice where I work, we treat/manage cats with chronic herpesvirus with Lysine with a high level of success

Vasectomy ? Really ?
I'll be 25 this summer, and I've already got a doctor who is willing to give me a tubal ligation (I'll hopefully be scheduling my surgery for this Spetember), and I absolutely can not wait. I have known my entire life that I never want to have children, and I am very much looking forward to the day that I can never become pregnant.
I am the one getting the surgery because I want to be able to have control over my own body. My fiancé also does not want kids, but if he got... [more]

One person mentioned the rabies possibility - the only way to get a definitive test for rabies is to sever the head and send it to the state vet lab in your state.
I would also advocate getting a second opinion. See if you can find a feline only vet since they are specialists and they would more likely than not know more than a general vet.

I'm supposed to be getting my insurance book and card back sometime this week. I answered questions that I'd have previous stomach/kidney diagnoses but never had treatment prescribed. Now I'm worried that I'll be denied any coverage at all!
I've never dealt with insurance at all before, how reasonable are my fears??

I have never in my life wanted to have children, and I can say with a good deal of confidence, that I will never have them. Luckily my fiancé never cared about having children either, so that makes it a lot easier for both of us!
On the issue of regret I look at it this way - I would rather remain childfree and (possibly) regret it later, than regret the fact that I had children. I'm willing to take the chance with possibly regretting that we never had children!

I was getting ready for class during my senior year of college, and I was making my daily rounds of websites in the morning when I saw the first mefi thread on the attacks. I believe that thread originally said that the WTC was in Chicago, so I just bypassed it and went and watched the "Gonads and Strife Wheeeee!" video for the frist time and laughed like crazy. Then I came back to mefi, saw the link again, and turned on CNN in horror. I was glued to the tv all day, and worried about... [more]

I imagine Spanish, Chinese, and Japanese are probably the most useful in the business world. Arabic for the intelligence world as well.
I majored in Spanish in college, partially because I used to live in California and Spanish is so prevalent there. I also took French, and because of this I'm (really close to) fluent in Spanish, passable in French, and I can do a decent job of understanding Portuguese and Italian because of how similar they are.... I second putting the marinaded meat back into the freezer. I had some free time one day and I made about 10 different marinades up and then froze them with the chicken in them until I was ready for them and that worked out really well for me. Plus it was awfully quick to just thaw in the microwave and then cook, I've even done that on my lunch hour!
I learned not to marinade stuff in pure soy sauce. Maybe that's and obvious thing to everyone else, but it wasn't to me.... [more]

Does your vet not do grooming? I work at a cat only vet, and we do a decent amount of grooming. It might be a little more expensive for your vet office to groom the puppy than a chain (I really have no idea since I don't work with dogs), but if it were my dog, I'd feel better knowing a vet was on site just in case anything happened and the puppy needed medical attention.

If your cat really just doesn't want to drink water, you might ask your vet about the possibility of learning to give your cat subcutaneous fluids via lactated ringers to help avoid dehydration. I'm a vet assistant, and we have a few owners who regularily give their cats fluids at home. Just an idea

Vets have to be able to diagnose what is wrong with the animal when the animal can't tell them in words. Human doctors usually can get at least some words out of a patient to help find out what's wrong. Vets have to do more than just check ups, they have to do surgeries, dental scaling and polishing, deliver baby animals, and all sorts of stuff. You don't have one all purpose doctor like this for humans.
Plus vets and their staff have to be on constant guard for bites,... [more]

Developing a cold after vaccines is normal, just like humans sometimes develop a cold afterwards. I'm not sure what could have caused the change in coloring, possibly stress, or just shedding out a lot of winter hair? You might call the vet and see if this is something they might need to see the cats for. It never hurts to double check!
