How can I get back my wireless functionality?

Yesterday my wireless connection to my home network on my Windows XP laptop kept dropping and I had to reconnect. Since then, wireless networks kept randomly disappearing from my list, and now mine plus all the neighbors' networks except one are gone and no amount of refreshing or restarting brings them back. I can still connect to the Internet through a wired connection. How can I get back my wireless functionality?

What do you put in your PC card slot?

What do you put in your PC card slot? Nowadays, many laptops come with stuff like Wi-Fi and flash card readers built-in (as mine does), and it seems like every peripheral is connected through USB. Eight years ago my modem lived in the PC card slot. But is there anything cool and/or useful I can do with it today?

iTunes on Windows 98?

A family member recently got an iPod Nano along with some gift certificates for iTunes. But her computer runs Windows 98 first edition. Apparently there are workarounds to use the iPod, but what about purchasing from iTunes?

Do you tag stuff in the most individual way possible, or do you let tags overlap?

Tags. They're used everywhere on the Web now to categorize stuff, but not everything has a unique name. Do you tag stuff in the most individual way possible, or do you let tags overlap? For instance, if I post a picture of my computer screen and one of my house, do I tag them both "windows"? Or do I tag one "Microsoft Windows" and the other "house windows"? Is someone named "Chris Smith" stuck with being conglomerated with other people with the same name, or should I ask Chris Smith what his middle name is and add it to the tag? It's easy for New York City to get the tag "NYC", but should photos of Springfield, Illinois be "Springfield", "Springfield, IL", or "Springfield, Illinois"?

I'm looking for blue shoe polish. Kiwi apparently makes it, but after checking local shoe stores, discount department stores, and drug stores, I can't find it. Any suggestions for where else I can look (either general store genres or specific places if you're familiar with the Detroit area), or, if that fails, a place to find it online without exorbitant shipping costs?

Are large chain bookstores like Borders and Barnes and Noble now discouraging customers from lounging around and reading? The amount of comfortable furniture seems to have decreased over the years, and one Borders location had an employee unusually concerned about me finding what I'm looking for when I was sitting on the floor reading.

Why do I usually feel inclined to pace around when talking on the phone? Even if I make a call while sitting comfortably, I end up walking all over the place when I'm using a phone.

The musical group Forest for the Trees (mainly one person, Carl Stephenson, who has worked with Beck) released an album in 1996, partially achieved one-hit wonder status with "Dream," released an EP the following year, then disappeared. What's he up to nowadays?

Even though I changed the Number of Days to Show on Main Page from 7 to 5 a couple of weeks ago, I still count eight date headings on the main page. The Customize form box says 5 as it should be, and re-submitting doesn't change anything.

After each post, where it says "x comments (x new)," how about having the word "new" link to an anchor of the first new comment on that link's comments page?
