The Velvet Vulva
it's pernicious to forget that "BBW" is just a nice way of saying "fat", and it's sheer folly when a fat person begins to believe her own press-releases -- "I'm not fat, I'm a 'Big Beautiful Woman'." It completely crosses the line when a fat person takes offense at being objectively called fat, and insist on the usage of "BBW"
Whoa, dude. If someone were to tell me that posting a link about velvet vulvas would... [more]

But the people who insist that others should not call them fat - doesn't that smack of a load of guilt regarding their condition being externalized and thrust upon the rest of us?
What people are you talking about? That's a fine theory and all, but other than ortho's vague reference to Craigs List personals, there's been no examples of the reality of this bit of PC dogma.
Actually ortho's ability to post attacks like... [more]

And before before. But there's no such thing as too many beads. Happy Lent all.

Hmm, but I think I'd have actually preferred to be in Cologne, Germany for Mardi Gras, strangely enough.

Inaugural protest pics
RJ Reynolds ... Are you looking to confirm its existence or do you need a good pic of it for some other reason? There were lots of "Worst President Ever" signs, they were of the professionally printed persuasion, white letters on black with a portrait of Der Fuehrer above the words. If the photo I took of one came out, I'll email a link.

Blackout
On topic: bushblackout wasn't very well publicized or organized, but I thought it was an interesting idea and similar actions to raise awareness on (generally less controversial) issues seemed to be well received among bloggers. So, I bought a MeFi textad for it, though I am in no way affiliated with the site. It's had 27 clickthrus in 1,354 views...I know little about internet ads, I'm not sure what a 2% clickthru rate says MeFi's interest.
Off topic: damn this thread... [more]

"There is no prohibition on crosses, symbols or messages based on content" -- from the 'banned crosses' article.
that is such utter bushit. you can't even wear buttons that question the King. i hope the "Christian Defense Coalition" does file suit. and wins. then the secret service won't be able to keep the paper maiche bushs out either...at least not without yet another hypocritical stab at the basis of free speech.

psmealey, i think you might be surprised by turnyourbackonbush. i really believe it has a chance of being effective. even if only 1 out of 100 parade-goers turns around, it will be something that's demonstrable and reportable. there will be 100,000 people protesting Bush Jan20 in DC, but the rove propaganda machine will easily ignore them. the people who have turned their backs in every photo will not be so easy to dismiss.

XQUZYPHYR has owned up already, no need to pile on.
Agreed on the non-need for a pile-on, but I don't see where XQUZYPHYR owned up to completely talking out of his ass during his first couple of comments.

even republican pollsters are sportin' the foil:To screw up one exit poll is unheard of. To miss six of them is incredible. It boggles the imagination how pollsters could be that incompetent and invites speculation that more than honest error was at play here.however the conclusions drawn make even sense than run-o-tha-mill election fraud:But instead of following his logic that the discrepancy suggested vote tampering, as it would in Latin America, Africa or Eastern Europe, Morris postulated a...
