Are there any classical paintings that show a woman with stretch marks? Forgive me if classical is the wrong term - I'm trying to emphasize I'm not interested in modern works.

Has anyone done any sociology-type studies about online message board behavior between users? The stuff that we're used to - flame outs, pile ons, and the like. Bonus points for any books that might be a good read.

In the U.S., there are those songs that relentlessly show up everywhere. Songs like C&C Music Factory's "Good Vibrations," for example. I've heard it on numerous commercials, shows, in arenas, etc. These are songs that are still used LONG past their 15 minutes of fame due date. But what about other countries?

If I use a quote from an internet source (not famous, but from a blogger, etc.) in an art collage, without crediting the source (because I cannot find the source), what possible trouble could I get into? Does this sort of random, "I heard this" violate any kind of copyright law or anything like that?

Looking for a lakeside B&B (or cottage or hotel) with lake view room in WI, IN or MI. Should be within two hours from Chicago roughly. This would be for early January. Any recommendations or cautions? Ideal prices would be in the $125 or under a night range.

I love the song "Zingy Final" (?) by Ak'Sent - I especially love the jungle, tribal kind of drum feel to this style of hip-hop. Every now and then I hear a song like this, but I'm at a loss as to what to search for - can anyone give me other examples of artists or songs to look for that project this kind of sound and feel?

My cat Lulu has a strange quirk - if you touch a certain spot on her tail while she's lying down, she will start kicking herself in the face. It does not seem like she wants to do this, it's more like a reflex. Could such a mechanism exist? Or is our kitty a little bit more special/brain damaged than we thought?

What is the best food dish (speciality) out of every culture? I've decided to try at least one thing from as many cultures as I can think of and find an authentic meal for each. For example, I know nothing about Korean, German, Ethiopian, Lebanese, Portuguese, or Irish food - any suggestions there? Thanks!

Can anyone recommend a particular New York State winery? I'm sorting through them all now, and there are so many! I would prefer one with a bed and breakfast accomodation either on site (do they do that?) or quite nearby. Attractions nearby would preferrably also lean towards nature or museums rather than shopping.

If police found a container that to them obviously contained drugs (but there were no drugs in it, except for maybe a small coating of dust in the case of cocaine, or a few flakes of marijuana), could they charge you with anything? (The container in this instance would be a baggie or a box, nothing that is explicity "drug paraphanalia.")

Has anyone used/known anyone who has used the
PlusDeck? It's a device for putting sounds from cassette tapes onto your computer. I want to do this primarily as a sampling of sounds into a sound-editing program, and possibly as a way to record entire songs onto the computer. Any reviews? Any idea of the quality? I'm clueless here.

My boyfriend needs to go to the dentist. He recently chipped a tooth, and hasn't been in ages. The problem is two-fold: One, he's TERRIFIED of going, especially because of his long time away from the dentist, and because of deep-rooted fear of the dentist and two, he has no dental insurance. He's agreed to go if I can find a dentist that will accept him without insurance and I go with him to hold his hand. How do I find a dentist that will see him without insurance and will be accomodating to his fears? 1-800-dentist seems secretive at how they arrive at their recommendations.

Many times in my various workplaces, I've noticed people "nesting" in the ladies restroom. By this I mean, using one of those papery toilet seat covers before sitting down. Most of these incidents involve a restroom that is spotless, and sometimes it was only used by a few people. I'm of the mind that using these things is if anything, less sanitary, as it increases the chance of (*ahem*) fluids getting on the seat. I can't find any info either way - your thoughts?

I swear I saw this a while ago - a soap-saver type device. You put your worn-down soap shards in it, and compress it down to make a new bar of soap. Am I losing my mind, or has anyone else seen this device? If you have any other tips for saving those last bits of soap, I'd love to hear them too.

On Friday, our apartment was burglarized, and one of the things taken was my Pentax SLR camera I got in high school (about 8 years ago). I'm depressed about replacing it - all the "basic" models now are made of plastic or have too many features. This was the most basic student model, heavy, clunky, and completely manual. Does anyone know of a good used camera site that isn't eBay?

What is the best Windows application for creating reports of digital music collections? I need it to support both MP3 and AAC. I would prefer customizable HTML output but would settle for Text. I have tried several popular applications but none have supported AAC and their reporting capabilites have been minimal. I am looking for something that can create reports with just artist and album titles as well as the more typical every file/song reports.

In about a week, my boyfriend and I are flying from Chicago to Boston. He plans to play with his band while he's there, and so would require his bass (electric). This is not something we would want to check, for risk of damage or theft. But I don't think that sort of thing is allowed as carry-on. What can we do? I know that a lot of locked items are forced open nowadays for security checks. Does anyone have any experience with transporting instruments via air? We're taking ATA by the way.
