21 judges give 4 contestants a 4, 3, 2, or 1. How often is there a first place tie?

Imagine a contest, with 21 judges and 4 contestants. Judges must give one contestant 4 points, one contestant 3 points, one contestant 2 points, and one contestant 1 point. The winner is decided by summing the scores of all 21 judges. Mathematically speaking, what percentage of the time would you expect there to be a tie for first place after all 21 scores have been added?

Do you call your grandfather Bumpy?

How common is the title "Bumpy" for a grandfather? Like "Grampa Joe" or "Peepaw Frank"... do you say/understand the usage "Bumpy Jackson" for a grandfather? If so, where did you grow up?

Help me make 2 new wave costumes.

I want to throw together 2 costumes (1 guy, 1 girl) that would scream 80's new wave high schooler. I need pictures to help us not end up too emo. "New wave" means different things to different people, so please read inside.

Help me find more electronic covers of old punk songs.

I have recently found Of Montreal's cover of Where Eagles Dare, and I love it. Can you recommend me some more electronic(kish) covers of old punk songs? I am not looking for anything that is not an electronic(kish) cover of an old punk song.

When did boys start pretending the floor is made of lava?

I am 34 and grew up in Texas. I just heard a coworker ten years my junior say "Well, boys liked to pretend that the floor is made of lava." I totally knew what he was talking about. How old is this meme? How widespread is it?

Recommend me an effective Austin company that will get rid of attic squirrels.

I think I have squirrels in my attic. They make scratching noises, fighting noises, and noises that sound like something is galloping around up there. If you have had a similar experience, can you recommend a good pest control company? I am in Austin, TX.

Help me find a very specific Filipino Christmas album.

I am looking for a specific Christmas album on Capitol Records, called "Christmas in the Phillipines" or "Pasko Sa Pilipinas", which is understandably a very generic title. The record I'm thinking of has the song "Pasko Sa Manila" by the Roque Sisters.

When did people start saying "REEEEEmix!" in a remix?

You know how in (some) remixes, someone will yell during the intro "REEEEEEEmix!" with the "re" as a higher note, and the "mix" as a lower note (the interval always seems to be the same). Who started that, and when was that particular interval settled upon as the way to say "remix"?

Melodies that use the same note many many times in a row?

I'm looking for songs that have melodies that use the same note many, many times in a row, like Ca Plane Pour Moi. I'm not looking for songs featuring people who speak-sing, or rap or scream. I'm not looking for songs that have melodies with only 3 or 2 different notes in them. It has to be a song with a melody where one note gets repeated alot (more than say, Jingle Bells). Do you know any?

Wires stapled to walls. Is this legal?

Why a horse in "so hungry I could eat a horse"?

Does "I'm so hungry I could eat a horse" mean "I'm so hungry I could eat at much meat as is on a horse's bones (without getting full)" or "I'm so hungry I'd be willing to eat something as (presumably) unappetizing as horse meat"?

Wolf no longer beats Nuke? WTF!

He added to Rock, Paper, Scissors and came up with RPS-15 (with 15 signs) and then RPS-25 (yep, 25 signs). Then he added on to those games and made something "so complex, I highly doubt anyone will actually even want to attempt to play it." Dear lord, it's RPS-101. (Previously)
