And then there was one.
Following the death of his neighbour Ishaq Levin, Zebulon Simentov has become the last Jew in Afghanistan. There have been Jews here since at least the
eighth century, but now Simentov is on his own.
But the saddest fact of all is the fact that up until his death the two men
hated each other.

Bohemian election.
Just a little something to lighten the day. Bound to be a double post but can't find any signs, so apologies in advance if it is. Altogether now,
My brother jeb has votes put aside for meeee...

The worst CD in the world.
Here's something to while away the office hours, compiling the worst CD in the world from tracks that you own.
"What's your least favourite track by your favourite band? It's a difficult question, because often we're reluctant to admit that our favourite bands have written bad songs. We program ourselves to take sides: we'll often convince ourselves that a good song by a band we don't generally like is worse than a bad song by a band we normally love.
I'm interested to know if there's any common stuff in people's most hated songs list, and conversely if something you own and hate happens to be someone else's favourite. And if there's something you really can't stand - why did you buy it? Why do you still have it?"
So it's fifteen tracks
in your own record collection that you
hate the most. And the site is something to do with some time mefi poster nylon, so all the more reason to join in the fun
I'm kicking off my CD with
starship.

Rude place names.
If you're in England then this is for you. Please bare with us rest of the world, this is what we really like in our humour (at least it in Kilburn). If you're not in England then feel free to use my postcode, NW2. Ooooo,
titter ye not (and who will be the first wag to post "not"?)

Wizard People, Dear Reader
is a bizarre re-reading (or, if you're Tim Burton, a re-imagining) of Harry Potter and the philosophers stone (or sorcerers stone for our friends across the pond). Basically you download it, burn it to CD and play it while watching the DVD. A new art form, a childish gimmick or somewhere inbetween?
Everybody will have a copy
soon, so get busy with the download (courtesy of the ever vigilant Talking Tina at Sissyfight.com).

It's Rodeohead,
(MP3 download), the radiohead country and western medley. Please note there is absolutely no reason to post this apart from it's Friday, it's a bank holiday weekend and it made me laugh. If you're looking for in-depth then move along, nothing to see here...

Greatest online game ever.
(flash, and turn the sound up). I know it's not friday, but I'm hungover and cold so it feels like friday. And this game doth so rule.

Electronic Gaming Monthly published this.
It's a photoshopped picture of a group of Russian soldiers holding the game
Socom 2. Trouble is the picture should have looked like
this, Russian soldiers holding up pictures of soldiers who died in Chechnya. Whatever you think of that war this is in pretty poor taste (added to the fact it's an advert for a shoot 'em up), but thankfully there is now an
online petition to get them to take it down.

How bona to varda your dolly old eek!
Fancy a bevvy? If so, then you must know how to speak
Polari, a language that is a mixture of romany, cockney, criminal slang and Italian. Many people first heard this secret language on the radio show
round the horne with
Julian and Sandy, but it still crops up now and again. Morrissey even used it on his album
Bona drag (see the lyrics to Piccadilly Palare). Gives a whole new meaning to people who
troll as well.
