I have three 500 MB hard drives in my XP desktop machine, and another 500 MB external. Right now, I'm working with them as four different drive letters, which gets confusing. Is there a utility that will allow me to treat them as a single drive letter?

The New York Times subscriber wall has come tumbling down, I though it might be interesting to see what she's had to say about us over the years.

I have to think of a question to ask Irvine Welsh at an event this evening. I've no more than a passing familiarity with the man's work. Any suggestions?

Mrs. Optamystic is not generally a fan of video games, but she loves Caesar 3. Now that she's beaten it, can you recommend similar games for the PC?

Could we possibly make an effort to try to appreciate the
content of a given site, rather than have every other link derailed by
some niggling critcism of the webmaster's use of fonts/flash/javascript/punctuation?

is NASA's nifty new site where they'll be posting info on new planetary discoveries. It's a long shot, but hopefully this will lead to broader based public support for the space program.

Teacher fired for...well....teaching.
An Australian teacher was dismissed from her job for telling her class of youngsters that Santa Claus does not exist. Is she an excellent educator, or a grumpy Grinch?

Taliban gets rich from drug trade.
So, how long will it be until copping a buzz is considered "aiding and abetting terrorism"? Also, between these charges and the legitimate threats to safety presented by actual terrorism, does the already severely diminished
Fourth Amendment really stand a chance?

U.S. Military worried about Ecstasy use among soldiers.
Yeah, I suppose they would be. Last thing we need are a bunch of empathetic, self-aware, hired killers. Seeing one's enemy as an extension of oneself tends to muck up the whole nationalism concept, and we can't have that, now can we?

"The Standard Model" of the universe takes a hit.
Score one for string theorists. Scientists at the Brookhaven National Laboratory appear to have discovered a new type of subatomic particle that would disprove the currently accepted model for the nature of space and matter.

Lisl Auman
will spend the rest of her life in prison for a crime that she didn't commit. I was made aware of this woman's plight by a brief mention in
Hunter S. Thompson's ESPN column. This woman is serving a life sentence for a murder that was commited while she was in police custody. Surely, a travesty such as this cannot stand.

Calvin....not urinating on anything, thank God.
Universal Press Syndicates' comic's site, which, along with allowing you to sign up for a daily dose of "Calvin and Hobbes" spam, has many of the strips of this and other comics archived. Chuckles abound.
