Moved to DFW... now what?
I'll try not to repeat anything anyone else has said thus far...
The Observer is worth picking up weekly (or reading online weekly), but definitely plug DC-9 at Night, their music blog, into your feed-reader of choice if you're a music fan. Also worth checking regularly/feeding are the Pegasus News Music Blog (formerly TexasGigs.com), and Life Outside the Bubble - which is posted by Cindy Chaffin, the founder of TexasGigs.com.

Can I ask why you would need to solve it algebraically? It seems like a pretty simple logic puzzle. If you needed to show work, I guess you could use a pretty basic matrix.

A job for a smart, annoying, musically gifted ex-con?
1) Crazy-talented guitarist/musician
How crazy-talented is he? If he's *that* good, then he could find work as a studio-musician or stand-in player in most major cities. It's no the end-all be-all, but it may help make ends meet. I've never known a musician that cared too much about their band-mates' past (unless they wound up sketching out on a gig).

If you don't find a suitable answer here, it may be worth e-mailing the kind folks at BadRap. They're SF-based, but probably the most prominent Pit Bull specific rescue group in the country. They may have some advice and/or contacts for you.

Okay, with a little bit of research, some others you may want to try -- both the Brooklyn Animal Foster Network and Sean Casey Animal Rescue are Pit Bull friendly (as they have Pit Bulls up for adoption on PetFinder.
Here's a search on PetFinder for Pit Bulls available in Brooklyn/NYC, which is where I found those two agencies. Digging through the rest of those search results may lead you to other PB-friendly agencies to contact.

I just came in to say what Daddy-O did. If the coasters are going to be such an issue that you can't put them away for a while and your wife can't handle them, I would think any grandparent would love them to death and they'll no longer be the tell-tale heart in your house that you seem to think they are. Granted, you'll likely find something else representative of the issues you and your family have to represent the issues that you're going through, and I can't offer you much advice on that,... And go see 'em live, if you get the chance. It's that good.

How do I find the right martial arts program for my 6 year old boy?
No offense, KT, but I think your priorities may be a bit misplaced. Don't focus so much on which MA you're going to enroll your kid in, focus more on finding an instructor that has experience and is really good with small children. You should be able to sit and watch a class pretty easily at any studio and see how the instructor interacts with children that young.
I say this as a guy that took Tae Kwon Do from age 8-ish to 14-ish or so. Did the fact that is was TKD... [more]

My son has been talking about this for a year and I kept thinking he was too young plus we're not big into organized classes at this age but he is insistent at this point and so I was trying to find a place he'd be happy. When I opened up the phone book I just didn't know where to start since I am completely unfamiliar with this subject and there seem to be so many options.

How do I stop construction workers from waking me?
Is there a permit posted on the construction site? Here in Dallas, it must be posted and provide the information for legal construction hours, along with a phone number (which is probably just 311, but I can't guarantee that off the top of my head) to report violations.
However, I *think* that in Dallas the legal starting time is 7AM on weekdays. Yes, it's annoying.

Thanks all. From what I gleaned here and a conversation I had with my father tonight, I think we at least have somewhat of a grasp as to how to handle the issue.
As far as the leakage goes, I'm sorry if I (or frankly, the SO, who typed up the majority of the initial question) didn't clarify, but the condensation line actually runs out of the front of the house from a PVC pipe that hangs off of the front awning.
