Well not a meta bug but an IE5.1/OS 10.1.5 one, and a first for me, I was using IE5.1/OS 9.1, never had the double comment blurb.
This is what changed for me, if I use the browser back button, after hitting post in the previous window, it post's twice, never happened in the earlier system, and I did it a lot (back button)...won't again I hope...but for what it's worth...

Do short men get short-changed?
Any real life experiences to back up or refute this study? I found this very interesting:
"If a teenage sense of social exclusion influences future earnings, it may have great implications for youngsters from minority groups."

Robert Young Pelton,
At first the media complains because they're not getting enough information, they're not being allowed to cover the war. Then when they get to know everything, after the 120-day window, nobody cares anymore. Because once they start spelling it out and saying, "Wait a second, these guys are all from Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. Why aren't we fighting a war in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan and Egypt? Why are they our allies?" And then those are the tough questions that never really get asked, because the public doesn't really care at that point.
Is disbelieving major news organization reports a neccessity to get the
real stories?

Some
say the Taj Mahal pre-dates Shahjahan by several centuries and was originally built as a Hindu or Vedic temple complex. Fascinating theory or a crackpot...more inside >

Musharraf
reportedly told the US ambassador in Islamabad that he would rather "hang himself" than extradite Sheikh Omar Sayeed.
I had made an earlier front page post on the issue of extradition, Omar's in particular, and most opinion then seemed to feel that he would be extradited. I am interested in your opinion on whether it's Musharraf who is playing games with the US, only to sustain power, all the while allowing the US to feel that they are playing him.

Does extradition serve any purpose?
A few weeks ago there was some talk of extraditing Omar in the US press, but since then the story seems to have died down, or rather lost momentum. I wonder why there hasn't been a louder clamoring for his extradition? I am sure his wife cares about the outcome of this case.

Foreigners and Rulers,
this is an issue that albeit being an old one keeps cropping up, here is her official
position.
I am interested in opinions of whether you think it is okay for a foreigner (born and raised to "adulthood") to become a political leader of another country. And is anyone aware of a similar situation in others parts of the world where this has either been considered or has occurred.

The War on Iraq Will Be Launched in September...
or so a russian journalist says based on russian military intelligence. If any of this bears out it seems a lot like global domination vis-a-vis installing controllable pro-western leaders...what say the rest of you?

'If you want to know what Utopia is like, just look around - this is it,'
the article asks is human evolution over? Two interesting "facts?" "points?"
1) the blending of our genes which will soon produce a uniformly brown-skinned population. Apart from that, there will be little change in the species.
2) Just consider Aids, and then look at chimpanzees,' says Jones. 'You find they all carry a version of HIV but are unaffected by it. Something very similar could soon happen to humans. In a thousand years...

City older than Mohenjodaro unearthed.
This subject has always fascinated me, what is the world's oldest city/civilization? I remember learning in school the standard-tigris and euphrates river valley in Iraq version. But since I left school there seems to have been an ongoing search with multiple claims, here are a few links to newer claims,
hamoukar, mohenjodaro, harappa, details of hamoukar, by the archaeologist.
Does anyone have any insights, links are welcome, and what in your opinion is the oldest city/civilization in the world.

Pakistan Tells US It May Move Troops:
So what happens to the alliance against terrorism, and recalling 4,000 troops, do they seriously think in a war that number would make a difference, or is all of this a ploy to get the US to back Pakistan in the war against India.
