Rube Goldberg meets Flash Friday

Launchball : Think a stylised, fluoro version of The Incredible Machine. And when you finish the level, it reveals a science fact -- which you can pretend to read and claim it's educational...

Stick it on the fridge

I've often looked at Magnetic Poetry in gift shops and thought, "There's no way I'm paying that much." Fortunately, there's a free alternative, albeit a digital one. (Includes a bookmarklet that allows you to pull a word set from any webpage, and the option to save your masterpiece to show your friends.)

I have a question about Metafilter's Textad policy. In general, I find the ads relevant and useful --- I'm far more likely to click through here than on other sites.

However, I noticed today that there's an ad running that asks people to "Play Texas Hold'em", posted by checknraise. Those of you who run Movable Type or Wordpress blogs might have noticed a recent wave of comment spam advertising "Texas Hold'em".

If I had ads on my blog, I wouldn't accept them from people who are also spammers. Does Metafilter have a policy on this type of thing, and is there any way to dump the "Texas Hold'em" ads?

CNNNN: Chaser Non-stop News Network. This week, the Terrorthon reveals that Iraq is a bad place. "Last week, President Bush demanded unconditional access for weapons inspectors. And what does Saddam go and do? He gives unconditional access to weapons inspectors. Can you believe the nerve? It was a very aggressive act of compliance. Very provocative compliance. President Bush mustn't take yes for an answer." Must-watch for all Americans... From the same gang that brings you The Chaser, which continues dispite problems with its distributor over this story. Apparently it was in bad taste. I just thought it was funny...

"The organiser of a Brisbane sex exhibition is confident he'll easily recruit volunteers to become the first Australians to have sex in public at a Sexpo event."

Apparently "People like to watch and be watched...as long as it's done in a non-tacky way." Having sex at a giant dildo sale. How could that possibly be tacky?
