Eric: And [my idea of who I'd like] is a liberal ideal! It's anyone I fucking like! A 5-foot-2, 200-pound Indian woman! It could be anybody.

Wired: Except if she's 40.

Eric: Yes.

What a fantastic arse!

Devilishly brilliant.

Perhaps this is the new way to deal with the teaming hoards of idiots on YouTube, hoax the hell out of them?

MeFi post: Pathetic little fat man, noones bloody laughing
Eh, I actually thought that scene was one of the worst from the entire season and represented everything that was so disappointing about this season.

Whilst last year he managed to accurately strike the balance between a heartfelt drama and big name stars, this year it feels like Gervais overstretched himself, he tried to be too clever. The various celebrities were led into more and more unrealistic situations and the essential heart of the show - the friendly... [more]

They work in the 'eye tee' department, why on earth would the show be called anything different? LOGIC, people.

I've never heard of the popular people being the 'IT crowd'. I think you are refering to the "IN crowd'.

Ah, YouTube comments.

Oh, and the reason that boingboing tends to be so fawningly congratulatory about the series is that Cory did some consulting for the show.

As a result of this (and the reason that, despite it's oft weak scripting and stale acting, it's one of the most fantastic shows on television) the office set is covered with EFF stickers and other net geek references. How often do you get to see "MP3 is not a crime" or a poster of the Flying Spaghetti Monster in mainstream... [more]

"the comments about being afraid to tell them they can't listen to music are ridiculous"

No, they're not.

About a year ago I got thoroughly sick of these types and so began to wage my own daring crusade of public mockery against them. I've found the best offense is to approach them with a friendly-but-baffled manner, as if you can't quite understand why upstanding young chaps such as themselves would want to be... [more]

MeFi post: the dreamcast lives again?
I bought my third Dreamcast (the previous two died of overuse, uh) last month after playing the Project Gotham Racing 3 demo on the Xbox360 and becoming horribly nostalgic for Metropolis Street Racer.

Then I realised that Mario Kart (DS) has completely ruined me for proper driving games.

It's not how fast you drive, it's how you drive fast.... [more]

Your Dreamcast died from overuse? I have 1000+ hours logged on Phantasy Star Online and mine is still working fine.

I also used mine as a CD player. Try 8+ hours a day, every day for 3 years. The next one I got was second hand and a little bashed up.

I might try and take more care of the third one, but for £15 a pop it hardly matters now.

MeFi post: The apocalypse is coming
People complaining about how shit individual myspace pages look reminds me of my mother telling me that I need to tidy my bedroom.

A more apt comparison would be a mate who doesn't want to spend much time in your room because the weird lighting makes it hard to distinguish objects from one another, the music is too loud to have a decent conversation with, the decor is painfully juvenile and they keep tripping over piles of mess and crashing into things.

We have given you his name and his general whereabouts. Now I'm asking readers to hunt him down and find out where he lives, so that we can publish his address here in the eXile.

Wouldn't this be better off with the SA Goons? Vigilante justice reaches about as far as quiet mumbling on Mefi and anything above that generally succeeds in making everyone involved look like an easily-excitable idiot.

"Please, please shut up. Internet Detectives are the subject of scorn and bannings on SA in a lot of cases."

Hey I was merely commenting on the reputation your forum has acquired, but I commend you on your attempts to alter that stereotype. However, an antagonistic tone rather detracts from your point, see: (meta).

MeFi post: Where to find nice posters
From boostaforum's FAQ:

How are your prices so low?
The first reason is because we are new and made our prices so low to start off and get people interested. Second, we find writers that are willing to post at low costs because they are interested in your forum topic.

I suspect their "frequently asked questions" page needs a rename.

Many schools and county council facilities will be closed tomorrow ... The decision to close the schools has been taken after seeking expert advice about the plume of smoke above the blaze and the potential risk to health, and the likelihood of severe traffic congestion.

The council has also decided to close day centres, libraries, the household waste site and other county council buildings in the Hemel area.

Have been drooling over the trailers since TOR.N put up that Japanese one, it's nice to have a higher quality though.
