Thought or not
This is the perfect thread to mention my new theory about the "feh/meh" ratio. Being able to search within a user's activity now makes it easy to see how often each of uses the dismissive "feh" as well as it's more apathetic cousin "meh".
As you can see from the linked examples, I used (at least before I started writing this thing) "feh" four times and "meh" only once, for a 4/1 feh/meh ratio.

Damnit, I didn't link to my own "meh" search in the proper link, and used the "feh" one a second time.
Feh.
man, I'm building up an inverse negative ration quick at this rate

Okay, fine; I'll do it myself:
jonmc: 9/11 (an aggressive "feh" user, but not completely inversed)
grapefruitmoon: 0/4
fixedgear: 0/6
tkchrist: 0/7
loquacious: 4/1 (ooh, another outlier!)
Brandon Blatcher: 0/8
It's Raining Florence Henderson: 1/5
Do you see what I'm going on about now!!!???!!!

scrump: 0/0 (well, he's scrump)
rmd1023: 0/0 (okay, I'm getting tired of this, now...)
cortex: 6/60 (finally some meaningful statistics!!)

Obviously, someone needs to make a Project.
In this website, I discuss the intersection of administrative matters with substantive content, with an eye towards the proper classification of obituaries, particularly of recently-deceased computer science professors.

I'm guessing that when crash originally posted it, the site didn't mention Obama. Now it does, and he wanted to point that out to us.
Am I right? If so, what do I win?

Speaking of petty and small; I would say something about docpops' comment, but I fear his finely-honed sensibilities and exquisite taste would strike me down like the classless peon that I am were I to dare such an affront.

UbuRoivas, I felt the same way about both Dee_extrovert's comment and pjern's, and I didn't favorite either of them for just that reason. As long as they're both here, though, I want to tell each of them that I read their comments, I appreciated their making them, and I was overwhelmed at the thought of how difficult they must have been to make.
Those kinds of complicated emotions deserve a little more than a "favorite" check-off.

Numeristerical!
I have bragged before about how I am the first member of the "14k" crew, because the seven that preceded me were only there for - well, for other reasons. Hey, they never made any comments, right?
Any one of them, however, could suddenly show up and make a comment just to prove me wrong, though, so I've been pretty much on pins and needles for the past seven years.

Six years. I was so worried about counting off user numbers on my fucking fingers (00, that's one, then zero-one, that's two ...) that I can't count years.

Yeah, great idea! We can all participate in a 10th anniversary meetup together in real time, with near-instant feedback between each one of us without any of us having to actually be in the same location at the same time!
Now if only we could come up with some way to build the architecture necessary to pull something like this off ...

No. There's too many assholes that still think "we" (the MetafFilter collective) did something wrong.
There were NO "this is a shitty post" comments in the original thread.
When a MeTa thread was posted that proclaimed the original thread as one of the best MeFi threads of all time, several people who didn't think so, said so.

Actually, it looks from the discussion that the real happy ending is the confirmation of the tenet that you shouldn't post your friends' stuff to MetaFilter because you might not be completely objective about whether it's good enough (or ready enough) to post.
