I agree it would have been "better" to simply mark it as answered and close the thread. Deletion seemed unnecessary.

Further, deletion caused (obviously) speculation whereas a simple "The situation has been resolved. Thank you all for your help" would have just ended the thread and everyone moved on.

It happens to me too on the blue. It is recent, last few days.

Big pause at the end of loading a page, cannot scroll or do anything.

Goes away quickly. Causes no other issues I can tell.

I know it's unlikely user 1 is still reading this, but the problem described above seems to be getting more pronounced. If anything, the move to the new servers made it longer.

It is a solid 3 seconds on the front page, and about 2 seconds on comment threads.

It does not occur at all on askme, meta, or music. I've not tried jobs.

Technical Feedback: Interface is terribly, crazy, super slow on Internet Explorer v7 Beta 3. Scrolling down the page, you can see each line refresh itself. Trying to page an entire page or two gives a few-seconds pause. Scrolling with the mouse wheel is almost nonfunctional.

On Firefox 1.5.0.1 very quick, no noticeable slowdown during scrolling of any method.

I used to not have any sort of SAMD. Then I became an avid motorcyclist.

Now I dread the late fall and winter in ways that would surely seem silly to the uninitiated. Others have it worse, because I am willing to ride in much colder conditions than many people are. The cold does not bother me as much as the precipitation.

In IE 6 you can turn off pictures by going to Tools/Internet Options/Advanced/Multimedia/Show Pictures. Toggle that off, and never again be assaulted by about 27 pixels shifting colors.

If you use Firefox, then you're smart enough to know how to turn it off.

That also implies there is a very large untapped market for selling unused MeFi logins. Ebay would have to make a special sectoin just for it.
