An API would be cool. I'd like to make a tag/post browser based on my design for the MeFi compilation CD cover. There was a discussion at some point and I think Matt said there was a possibility of a data dump he could produce in lieu of a full open API... Matt, is there any chance of a file like that?

Ha, all my life I've aspired to nothing else but being linked on MeFi, and now I get *two* whole links out of... being left off the liner notes!

About that link to my profile... Geez, I see I've only made 1 proper post to MetaFilter in 4 years... Ahem.

"blogging" isn't a very cinematic subject (by _sirmissalot_)
i agree. blogs are too text-oriented as both medium and activity. (photoblogs contain visual media, but are mostly echoes of photo albums, bound as they were to the book-like interface.) making an cinematic piece about blogs seems like a real challenge. you might as well do a dance about architecture. so it makes sense to focus on blogging and... about blogumentary on the web. i actually have huge ideas that i can't implement right now. i want to put *all* the footage in a video database, so you could watch interviews of everyone in the film (and everyone not in the film). the raw footage, indexed with wicked meta-data.
you might take a look at Jerome B. Wiesner, 1915-1994: A Random Walk through the 20th Century. it's an old mit media lab project. it presents an indexed database of video and... [more]
