Yes, troutfishing, the general indifference on this and similar environmental matters is saddening, a testament perhaps to the pervasive disconnect between most Americans and the natural world and to our feeling that we are above it and can engineer our way out of any potential consequences we have caused to the chemistry or physics of the planet.

Besides, what's a frog done for you lately? And frankly, they are sort of ugly and ikky so why should I care? Right?

Interesting end point, Skallas... This world free of 'religion' that you long for.

Had we two worlds, identical in every way, World One with its present mix of religions from its human beginnings, with all their influences, good and ill; and World Two, completely free of any behavioral/belief system known today as 'religious' or 'religion'....

What would that Second World be like now....who or what would its people and its cultures be? Would we... [more]

What is this world coming to? Toy Story on LSD?

(2) Biological necessity has a veto over the behavior which any set of moral beliefs can allow or require.

(3) Biological success is a necessary (though not a... [more]

And so, the Universe ends, not with a bang, not with a whimper...but with a YUKKKKK!

As slime we came into this world, and as slime may we leave it. Amen.

I suppose it was Lockergnome where I first heard about blogs, maybe a year ago. I tried to get my family interested in using one to coordinate family travels. No interest. As blogging came more common, seems like most were just Jerry Seinfeld in text (a show about NOTHING).

Finally, I have my own and it is about....well, nothing, except life from a dirt road.

And my family remains as disinterested in blogging as they were a year ago. Gotta find... [more]
