Return of the Return of the MeFi Music Challenge
I like the idea of having a few set categories. Maybe have one lyrical Challenge, one musical, and one completely crazy, off the wall Challenge each month. Flapjax could pick the best idea in each category from what peple send in, and people could attempt one or more of the Challenges in their songs as they were inspired to.

We Came, We Saw, We Recorded
I was able to get all 10 songs done, which made me very happy. I posted a couple of the songs to Music, and have a few demos up here. I figured I'd wait for the to release the jukebox for the whole thing to be online.
I was surpised I actually got it all done. I decided to go ahead and write everything last month too, and it was almost too much. By the middle of the month I had 8 song structures built but no lyrics or melodies. I had to write one song on the 29th... [more]

Just to follow up: the RPM 2008 Jukebox is now up live. The search function on the Library tab is pretty cool, just type in any word and it narrows the results if that is part of the track name, artist, song title, or genre. You can find my songs by typing in "Jimi Jimmy"

RPM Challenge 08 - join the party!
I'm going to give it a shot too-- profile. I think it is going to be a lot of fun, even if I can't get the full 35 minutes done.
O9scar- your profile link isn't working, it just prompts me to log into my account. I went my profile off the Participants list to get the link I used above.

You could always give logical sounding answers to her questions that will produce terrible results for her. That's the risk you take when you get advice on the internet. This callout may make that difficult, though.

I also think monthly is a good idea. I really wanted to participate again, but the idea I had needed some more development and I just haven't had time lately to work on it.

Kareoke humbles us all
Sounds like fun, but gas prices and poor financial planning have limited me to one trip out of the IE per weekend. My band has a show Saturday night in Long Beach so I'll have to pass.
However, if anybody is making the drive from the San Bernardino/Riverside area and can take a passenger let me know-- my email is in my profile.

Overeager moderation?
Really, because when I molested an invisible sky wizard, I never saw him coming.
Try a little more foreplay next time.

But as the only source of brains in the fight, he'd be immediately overwhelmed by hordes of hungry zombies. Once he was dead the zombies would lose all interest, leaving the robots to win the day.

MeFi shoutout on tonight's Mythbusters
Things were slow at work today, so:
Myth or Glory
Now every cheap nerd strikes a bargain with the world
And ends up knockin’ Kari, that myth-attackin’ girl
M E F I black-markered across the knuckles of her hands
The hands that slap those geeks around 'cause they don't understand how
Myth or glory becomes just another story

Would be a good idea to include a link to the demo in the comments as well, to make it easier to find the previous version.

I need to get back into Music, it's been a while since I did much exploring over there. Or contributing, for that matter. But we're in the process of getting equipment together to do some garage recording, so I should have some stuff to share before too long. I'm counting on you all to help me learn to mix. :)

If I knew how I'd volunteer to code it, but it seems like it could be handled pretty simply. Add a Post A Gig page that allows you to input the following: Band Name, Club Name, Address, City, State, Time, Cost and Other Info (to list who you're playing with, etc.) The sidebar would include all shows for the next 30 days, something like this:
Upcoming Mefi Music Gigs
Dec. 4, 2006
Afroblanco - New York, NY
Dec. 8,... [more]
