Inaccurately named 'feminism' is a vile, failing, malignant, marxist, lie.
Before claiming "solidarity" to such pernicious, intentional malevolence, reconsideration might be in order.
"Contemporary (or second wave) feminism has aptly been described as "Marxism without economics," since feminists replace class with gender as the key social construct. Of course, what society constructs can be deconstructed. This… [more]

News Flash: War is Hell.
Every year, 42,000 people die in accidents on America's roads - an average of 315 deaths a day. Who would argue that such tragic carnage is unsustainable and that the U.S. must quickly find an alternative to the automobile?

Can you or Cliff say this of Iraq?--why is Iraq suddenly our Pearl Harbor when in fact what Kerry said was that 9/11 was our Pearl Harbor?
It could be because the Hussein regime supported, financed, and harbored terrorists, as was evident in the training camps in Salman Pak, mentioned by May, also evident in the capture of al-Quaeda scumbags in Iraq. Hussein was also in flagrant violation of every promise he made after the first Gulf War, and was… [more]

Since the US supported and financed corrupt regimes from South America to Africa to the middle east, does this mean we get to invade the US?
Who's "we"? This kind of nonsense gets patty-caked around a lot on websites like Mother effing Jones, but in real life it's a lot like the American Democratic Party trying to decide which corrupt presidential candidate to support and finance until he loses spectacularly. It's a matter of choosing the one that is less ploddingly awful.

if we take your positions to be the "conservative" ones, then we can make some progress toward demolishing any sense that there is such a thing as a "conservative" - or its putative opposite, "liberal".
I appreciate your taking the time to respond so thoroughly, skoosh, and though I'm not sure we can ever transmogrify a single position into a political point of view, I'll do my best to respond. Let me add that my… [more]

Right, MattD. You've outlined what I think is obviously a majority outlook. Even those disappointed with Bush's fatuous domestic spending still support him on the things he's done right, namely; tax cuts and the war on terror.
Kerry doesn't really have any real supporters, just some people who want "anybody but Bush". Not too convincing.
