lost Scandinavian artist

When I was a kid I really liked a particular illustrator who painted? drew? these pastel-colored, rather depressing, and often romantic pictures, many of which were illustrations of the Anderson sorts of fairy tales, e.g. The Snow Queen, or Hansel & Gretel.

How does the immune system work?

The silver lining to colds and flus has always been that at least my immune system is better for it, and I’ll be less likely to catch the next thing. However, I’ve caught 3 colds (or something- they were all different, and none were serious) this year and it’s only May! In the past I’ve caught maybe one thing a year. Does your immune system stop improving as you get older? Why do old people get sick more easily? And how old are you when that starts? And how possible IS it to reinfect yourself with the exact same virus or bacteria? Once you’ve had something, wouldn’t your immune system just whomp it the next time it came by?

O'Reilly book covers, where can I get some made?

Can anyone find someplace that lets you make your own O'Reilly book covers? The old site (www.ilbbs.com) doesn't let you anymore (and gives you pop-ups instead).

My friend is suddenly getting married. It's a...

My friend is suddenly getting married. It's a court-house wedding for immigration etc reasons. The "real" wedding will be in spring when all the parents will be here. Despite the fact that this is a paper wedding it's still a huge deal for all concerned and at the very least we want to go out to a fancy restaurant.

The wedding will be in Marin, California. What is a pretty restaurant on the water in the area? Edible food is a bonus. Sausalito? Tiburon? Pt. Reyes? Any place? Any place?

Help! This is for Tuesday, the 19th!

Switching Identities in Microsoft Outlook

Switching Identities in Microsoft Outlook

I'm now at a computer that has Microsoft Outlook instead of Outlook Express. If I want 2 different email boxes/addresses/ etc. - how do I do it? It doesn't seem to have the Identity Switching feature that Outlook Express had.

I can set up another email address but mail to it ends up in my default Inbox.

Can I set up multiple identities?

Can I at least set up my mail so that each identity has a different in and out box?

SpicyPonyHeadFilter: My mom heard a skit on KPFA...

SpicyPonyHeadFilter: My mom heard a skit on KPFA (she thinks) in which an American in France is ordering from a menu and it becomes clear by the end of the skit that everything on the menu has "spicy pony head" as a principal ingredient.

She'd like to find out what it was called but the radio station's website isn't giving up the info, and it was so long ago (a month or so) that she figures no one at the station will remember it.

Has anyone heard or heard of this skit?

Thanks.

What happens to Spiderman's webs once he's done with them? Do they just stay there and get dusty? Do you think they'd interfere with helicopter blades?

Reading about the East India Company

My hazy memory of high school history is leading me to see parallels between the era of the British East India company and our current situation in Iraq. I'd like to read more to find out if this makes sense. Does anyone know of a particularly good book on the East India Company? I don't usually read history books so I don't know how to figure out which are credible and which aren't.

Songs about the Assassination of JFK

How can I find out who might be interested in a particular collection of 45 rpm records? They are mostly folk songs and all of them are songs written about the assassination of John F. Kennedy.
