A couple minor feature requests fulfilled
Am I stupid or is there currently no way to add other instant messaging services (icq, jabber, etc.) on the profile page?
Cos, y'know... some very few of us aren't on AIM... :(

Tags, You're It!
Or, a little checkbox "[x] This is a short link" on the post creation page, and then a profile option "[x] Show short links".
Or make a minimum # of characters mandatory.
Either way, it will wendell.
(sorry)

Self-linking comments
Why don't the powers that be add some link-checking thingy:
If the poster adds a link to his/her post which is the same domain of what the poster has in his/her profile, add "[posterX is affiliated with this site]" after the link?
Of course, that assumes that we all diligently and truthfully fill in all the sites we're affiliated with on our profile pages...

Someone needs to post that hi-lay-ree-ous list of how Santa is impossible (having to deliver 9,000 presents per second, at near lightspeed, etc.) that does the corporate email inbox round every year

Wikipedia is an inaccurate, incomplete, inchoate mess, dominated by wannabe dictator cliques, and yes, a completely odious commander-in-chief
sounds like somebody got his edits reverted :D
Wikipedia is everywhere, and it is bad for you - it is the McDonald's of the Internet.
I respectfully disagree.
Stop worshipping it like a god.

I wonder, is there a special term for such "my-favourite-discussion-point" diarrhea postings? I've come across them many times on other forums, where poster A writes about a topic that is (supposedly?) common knowledge. That topic just happens to be poster B's favourite topic, cos s/he's read something that flies in the face of said common knowledge and hangs on that for dear life, smacking down the evidently ignorant people that share poster A's views.... a super-duper easy way of sorting the blocking of individual users would be to wrap each individiual comment in a DIV with class="user[userID]", then do ye olde display:none; CSS trick.
This would necessitate being able to have custom stylesheets, tho. *adds to mile-long list of ponies*
